What's new

Cultural differences cannot be easily over looked.

Which idiot left Hawaii for the 'Burgh?

Why would you go to lengths to call him an idiot...

I know a Flight Attendant based in Boston, He's from Anchorage, Alaska...lives in San Diego too...He' was former Trans World...went to PSA in the 80s...got bought by US Air...bid for Pittsburgh then moved to Boston where he works the Airbus lines.

Is he an idiot too USCREW? 😉 Surely we both jested 🙂

I asked him though if he was going to bid for PHX or LAS when it becomes available contractually he said with a resounding "hell no sir I'm staying East".

Oh yeah in that instance...definitely an idiot but maybe he has his own reasons...hey...as long as he makes his flights...who are we to say he's an idiot except for maybe Crew Scheduling.

the East & West, but how to get there? Stating the obvious, we are as different as how we got here in the first place.
Many of the west people came from another state and or region of the country. They are people that pulled up and moved, left family and ties that in of itself sets them apart from most in the east. The majority in the east still live in the same area that their fathers and their grandfathers did. Many in the west had other jobs and carries and ended up at the airline only as a result of moving out west. Many in the east have worked here since high school this is their only work experience. Many in the west see change as opportunity; many in the east see it as something to be feared. I am not saying any of these are not real or legitimate feelings but they shape who we are and why we look at things so differently.

That might be the stupidest, most ignorant post ever on USAviation.com.

And that is saying a lot!

Many of the west people came from another zoo. They are people that used to be locked up and stared at as they were so strange. The majority in the east still live in houses. Many in the west still have to live under a bridge. Many in the east have graduated high school and held a job. Many in the west see change as things could get no worse; many in the east see it as idiots in over their head. I am not saying any of these are not real or legitimate feelings but they shape who we are and why we look at things so differently.

I am glad not to be one of you.
