I'm going to say it ... say what we are all really thinking , east and west don't seem to have much in common right now ... East wants the arbitration to chug along and west wants to transtion into the new contract .. So let me put this as politely as possible , East you handle your arbitration and we here in the west will PROVE to the company that we are deserving of the IAM payscale ..
You know i think with this whole merger process we've all lost our focus ... There have been so many disputes , so many pointed fingers , that corporate has even forgotten that the old TWU workers who are now IAM are still getting TWU pay rates ...It's an understandble oversight in todays corporate climate , that's why we here in the west will prove to managment that we're worth every penny of the new payscale .How will we do this? Why by building a winning airline of course! And the first building block of any airline is SAFETY!In fact our old motto at america west used to be safety first! We intend to take that concept from our old airline and bring it into this new merged airline ... With the spot light on the East stations alot of our ground equipment has started to go , and that's why starting tomorrow we , are perosnally going to make sure that every pieice of ground equipment that we get on meets not only our own safety codes , but also the Regional airports codes as well .Many of you in the west are familar with the term RED TAG ... well , we are going to take the first step in making a better airline by fixing ALL of the equipment ,from the push tugs to the bag carts . But we won't stop there , our aircraft are of primary importance and in the comming weeks as we learn more about aircraft safety we will learn to identify those problems which could jepordize the plane and will call in maintaince .
I think amoung things that are forgotten sometimes is driving at a resonable speed , far too often we whip around the planes on our belt loaders and bag tugs ... their are speed limits and it's time we start following them! Not only could we damage an aircraft by driving recklessly , but we also endanger the passngers on those aircraft along with each other .... I have already spoken to several of my fellow ramp workers and we are in agreement that things need to be reversed with this company , morale is at an all time low ... It's time we TAKE PRIDE in our work and in our selves ! together we CAN build a winning airline! Thank you for your time !

the 1st thing you need to know is "what de-icing fluid is! its not a hyd. leak. if its pink, red or green its not hyd fluid. if it smells like anti freeze its not hyd fluid!

Keep making the calls if it is deice so what - if that takes a delay - Yipee

It would be terrible if every non-rever and flight crew member flushed paper towels down the crapper. Imagine if someone was so despicable that they flushed a handful of paper towels in the crapper during flight. Imagine all the clogged lav tanks if that happened. Only a bad person would do that. People that flush paper towels down the crapper are real losers. Do NOT ever flush paper towels in the crapper. Don't bend to that level. :cop:

Don't flush paper towels down the toilet. Mm-kay?

Broken and unsafe equipment was red-tagged today. Management's answer: Have supervisors take the tags off. All red tags were rounded up by the safety supervisor, Joe Fretto aka Safety Joe. From now on, if you deem a piece of equipment unsafe or broken, you must contact a manager who will inspect the equipment and he/she will red tag the equipment.

Yeah. Tell me about it.

President Scott Kirby will be in the PHX ramp breakroom at 1630 on Thursday to "host a discussion group". There will be a short time allotted for a limited amount of questions.

Mm-hmm. <_<

This is not hard to solve.
Its against company policy to remove tags from unsafe equiptment if it has not been inspected or repaired by the proper dept.

No one can tell not to tag anything,if they insist though have them tag it.When they get tired they will stop.

If you put a tag on a tug keep a copy for your self. And when they pull it and something happens nail em.

If they insist you us unsafe stuff.OSHA loves this. Those red mushroom caps,e/brakes steering, guards to keep your fingers out etc.

If the problem persist there is a company number to call

i remember when i was in BOSTON when OSHA fined USAIRWAYS if I remember it was 250000 plus for using unsafe equipment and short staff. i think they would love to see us at piedmont working multiple flights with just 4 agents
