So what?
No firearms it would be clubs and knives.
So what?
Its part of life unless one lives in a touchy feely utopia world.

A knife does not have the same killing power of a gun, a gun does not have the same killing power of a bomb... Why you bring up natural disease in this conversation I still do not understand. Medical science is working on those. I do not see anything being done to try and prevent 15,000 gun homicides a year.

A gun cannot kill on the same level as a knife. With a gun, you can kill as many people as you have bullets in a very short period of time (1 second per bullet?) and not even have to come in to immediate contact with the victim. You can be several feet/yards away from the target. Not so with a knife. You can run from a person with a knife. Run from a person with a gun and it is still very easy to shoot the person. They are no where near the same level on a killing field.

Firearms: 30.2 %
Knives: 30.5 %
Other weapons: 40.8 %
Personal weapons: 35.0 %

I'll leave you with one last statistic to think about.

6 out of 10 gunshot victims die from sustained injuries 8 out of 10 knife attack victims die from sustained injuries.

You are 20 % more likely to die from a knife stab than from being shot in the Unites States. I don't want to experience either personally but if you feel you must please shoot me. I'll have a 20 % greater chance of surviving based on the reports submitted by police agencies to the FBI from across the U.S.
