CLT Larger than MIA

Well, no Kev, you're misinterpreting.  The only station that is out of alphabetical order is NYC.  Obviously that is the signal that AA has given up attempting to compete with DL in that market, and all NYC (LGA, JFK, EWR) operations will cease before Christmas.  It's as plain as day.

no, what it says is that AA wrote the list with JFK in mind and then decided that trying to argue for the value of a hub at JFK when AA is pulling capacity faster than DL can add it doesn't seem like a great argument for success... so they threw in LGA, called it NYC, and it ended up out of alphabetical order.

thus says the person smarter than any aviation executive that ever lived. Don't believe it? just read and see

Well, of course you would know what happened (and happens) at AA Headquarters better than anyone else.  WT, does it even register with you that you come across as a pompous a** most of the time?

and your explanation as to how NYC got ahead of LAX in a list that is otherwise alphabetized is _________________

besides AA/US has relatively few flights north of LGA so it is a whole lot harder to call it a hub than other NYC hubs for other airlines or AA's other hubs which are more omnidirectional.

Have you called DL to tell them Boston can no longer be a hub since it has almost no northern flights

Your logic is amazing how do you make this stuff up

If not all of us will start sending emails to DL corp comm for you

who said BOS is a hub?

and if you point to DL's press release boilerplate language, be sure and read it carefully.

"with key hubs and markets including Amsterdam, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Los..."

You just need to read the DL website - it says it's a hub

Sorry Corp comm did not review that with you

Hail to DL, Hail to DL

care to post the text.

let me help you out.

BOS is not listed as a hub

Hubs: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-LaGuardia, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam and Tokyo-Narita

but it is listed with the hubs and key markets.

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that DL categorizes BOS as a key market but not a hub.

Thank you preacher

On their website they listed boston as hub when you click through to the airports

but once again - this is about AA not the omnidirectional hubs of DL - as we all know they are the only ones with omnidirectional hubs

Hail to DL

I was thinking when I was on boardway watching Kinky Boots - are those the red slippers you wear when posting on about DL

I'm going to step out on a limb and say no he does not

BOS is a large DL station they have maintenance and flight attendant bases along with several longhaul flights to AMS, CDG, and LHR plus several point to point routes but it is not a hub. I believe at one point it was considered a focus city but I am not sure. DL is/was in negotiations with Massport to regain the gates in Terminal A they lost during the bankruptcy (went to CO and were vacated this past April). I agree the language on the DL Newsroom page is unclear I think it's just identifying BOS as a major DL market like LAX.
