CLT Larger than MIA

sorry but BOS cannot support the level of int'l service it has were it not for B6 as well as other domestic feed.

more than 15% of JL's traffic on BOS-NRT using even a 787 is domestic connecting traffic.

in every case, all of the carriers who are starting BOS service also have large hubs on the other end.

it is true that a lot of BOS int'l traffic flew thru NYC in the past but BOS is very close to becoming oversaturated esp. to Asia.

Look at the CX schedule, hardly any connections are possible without overnight extended layovers. They are catering to the strong local market.

CX' flight connects at HKG (its hub) to dozens of CX flights thru out Asia with an early a.m. arrival at HKG and a late afternoon departure from HKG.

yes, but CX' own hub is far larger than the domestic connections it can get at BOS.

In that sense, yes, the flight will rely on BOS O&D traffic - but it is a flight to all of Asia.

Given the amount of new capacity that is being added to BOS, including by the ME3, there will be a dramatic decrease in fares or many of those flights will simply not be viable. most of the new flights are all competing for the same destinations in Asia.

Josh when did LH start the 747 8 at BOS? When i was there in 99 n 00 they had either an A340 or 744 BA had 3 flights 2 of which were 777 n 1 744 Hanian Air which is a china air have they started bos to bejing yet?

Robbed LH launches 748 this summer. No Air China yet, just JAL and Hainan for now and Cathay Pacific come May. I know Shanghai/PVG is high on Massports list personally I would rather MEX and TLV.

BA is 4x peak season all evening flights 744 and morning flight (BA 238) is 772.

and since we're talking about AA/US and BOS, isn't appropriate to note that AA has absolutely ZERO intercontinental flights on its own metal on a year round basis?

is that correct?

Robbed don't know about USAIR but at AA our last 762 was retired in May. Pretty sure those aircraft are being phased out and won't remain in the fleet. Of course a lot can change between now and next summer.
