I didn't want to be the first to ask, but what's that about? Maybe a rouge screen name to give neg reps possibly?
Not sure. Maybe he is one of the guys that came from DL over to SWA.  Who really knows unless he decides to confirm...

I'm sure they do, but I doubt WN makes shady information public...like the new employee was in prison, or is a drunk, or worked for DL.

hey DL2WN wanna teach WT how to post like you do?  :D

UA is dropping back to 7 flights in January for DAL-IAH, maybe they have worked out a satisfactory sublease with Delta.

indeed. and possibly growing beyond up to a half dozen ATL flights.
and perhaps UA was posturing all along despite making claims about how well their flights were doing.

meanwhile, DL's sales from DAL have never been interrupted beyond Jan 6

didn't they sign a sublease with WN for any extra space?

That sublease was only until January when they had upped their schedule to 11 flights per day that were timed in a way that did not allow any "gate" sharing with other carriers.

Yes, SWA is subleasing from UAL one of their 2 gates, lease is temporary until 1-6-15.  I have not heard of any changes as of yet.  On 1-7-15 SWA will increase flying over to California by adding flights and utilizing the gate to full potential.  I have no clue where or what will happen with Delta.  We have been told that unless Delta is able to work something out with UAL or Virgin to "share" a gate after the 1-6-15 deadline then Delta will have to move those flights over to DFW.   Now if the latest rumors are true that UAL will cut back some flights, they very well may end up working a deal with Delta to sub-lease a gate.  It will only be 1 gate though, not the 2 gates that Delta has been fighting for from day one.  Delta is feeling (at LF) what SWA feels at other congested airports that SWA is unable to grow at because they are full.  Plain and simple as that.  If LF is full and all airlines are utilizing their gates to there fullest rather in leases or sub-leases then Delta will more than likely be out.  I don't think UAL wants to lease any gates to Delta directly.  We will all see what happens come 1-6-15 when SWA opens more flights out of LF from this very gate that Delta is currently using...

DL is still selling seats at DAL beyond 1/6. DL isn't and hasn't been worried that it would be able to retain its services.

DL pursued the ability to have 2 gates via the AA divestiture but did not give up and quickly changed its goal to obtaining as much space as possible.

from the beginning, it was apparent that UA had the space to lease and their reduction in schedule either means that they came to the conclusion that changing the schedule and telling DL to leave was something they could not do or that they figured that they could make more money leasing the gate - even at market rates for the airport and not inflated rates that UA might have liked to charge.

we might not ever know whatever has taken place.

It is increasingly apparent that those who thought that DL would be pushed out of DAL will be shown to be wrong.

AFAIK, there's no "prevailing rate" limits on what WN, UA or VX could theoretically charge for a sublease at DAL. The language was "reasonable" if I recall, which is open to interpretation, especially if you're leasing the only gate available.

Either UA blinked or DL decided that paying more than they originally wanted to wasn't such a bad idea to save face.
