oops sorry about that   I meant to say intl flights with connection    but can SWA do a one stop flight... DAL-MDW-YYZ type?

The key word is Non-stop.

Wn can offer flights to international destinations from DAL as long as it is connecting flights.

Like DAL to HOU to CUN.
Just like Delta does to many worldwide destinations.
correct.

and since WN doesn't serve Canada at all, that would be the first step in connecting it to DAL.

it was a given that even without an FIS, WN will carry an enormous amount to Latin America from DAL esp. when the new FIS in HOU opens.

also, many people don't realize how many int'l passengers start or end their journey at LGA and DCA and make connections at other gateways primarily on their way to Latin America and Asia. "domestic" airports can and do generate a lot of int'l traffic.

SWA very much wants to get into Canada and bounce all around up there plus some back and forths. Same for Alaska, just don't know when that will happen. Pretty sure Hawaii will be first. Yes Robbed, we can sell international out of DAL but it will have to have one stop prior to entering Canada and this is only from DAL as the international restrictions are in place. As you have heard or read lately that Cuba is strong on the list now too. We may see Cuba run to the top of the list if an agreement is announced soon and we can start flying there. All the majors want to start Cuban flights...

thanks swamt  yes I heard the same regarding cuba   AA has been doing charters for years   so itll be interesting to see what happens over the next couple years

Now back to DAL news. People are still wondering what will happen with Delta come July 6th.  But from the article it does not sound like SWA will "accommodate" Delta after July, but this part is not in quotes...

Southwest gains more Dallas gates; Delta to get booted?

After that, Delta will either have to end its Love Field service or find another arrangement to continue flying to the airport. Delta has said it is continuing to explore its options and intended to continue flying from Love Field. It also flies from Dallas/Fprt Worth.
Stay tuned ...

again, let us know when DL is out of DAL and is no longer fighting.

somehow you celebrate all of the legal accomplishments that allowed WN to fly to DAL and every step that WN has taken to dominate DAL but you don't think that DL is capable of mounting a legal challenge to get a half of a gate in an airport where WN has 95% of the seats and an operation nearly as large as what DL has at LGA?

you severely underestimate your competition, young man. your bosses are considerably smarter than you.

that's probably why WN execs and not you have cut the size of their ATL operation in half.

all of the 15 second commercials in the world won't change the fact that WN doesn't offer the number of flights or destinations that FL once did.

so will you be DL attorney and sue DAL and the DOT/DOJ on DL behalf  in the event that DL wont be at DAL come July 6 or after.....

nope.

I just continue to be of the belief that DL didn't fight to get this far at DAL without telling a whole lot of people that they weren't going to accept the excuse that the airport is now full after WN moaned about getting access to DCA and LGA because of limited access and now has created a situation of market concentration at DAL that is immensely worse than anything that any legacy carrier has ever had at any other airport.

iow, DL will call WN the hypocrite that they are

it appears that schedules for the additional flights have been loaded and there are no additional flights on any routes that duplicate any DL or UA nonstop service from DAL or DFW.

that means that the dreams that WN will add DAL to SLC, MSP, and DTW are apparently not happening.... which is what I have said would likely be the case.

and BOS and EWR are apparently not happening either.
