Bye bye Tulsa

The Line AMT's spent heavey resources to try to inform the Tulsa AMT's the truth about what was coming. Once again, many in Tulsa chose to listen to Local Leader Liars. This same scenario plays out over and over, and yet the majority in Tulsa still don't listen or stand. The truth is coming and it will be painful.

Let's see, I heard someone say AA won't need the JT8 shop much longer... power by the hour. 319s coming online fast now... Yep, Oklahoma better get a right-to-work law or NOBODY will move operations there. What do you think?

Flying low if its a story from parker why did it come from jim little's mouth?
So Parker could get the twu's blessing....

I do believe oklahoma voted in right to work a couple governors ago along with the lottery.

I have 3 comments I would like to make

In regard to the surplus, we discussed the SIS (stand-in-stead) program, which may allow employees to sign up for government retraining through the TAA (Trade Adjustment Assistance) program. As many of you are aware, as the older fleets are retired and new aircraft are brought on board, we are faced with the challenge of dealing with the required maintenance need declining year over year.

First is about the TAA program. I was in Fleet Service at the maintenance base and tried to apply for TAA. Even though we were also impacted by outsourcing of work to China we were denied TAA. The company even filed for TEMPS from Accounting Principles. How does a paper pusher from a temporary service get TAA but an actual AA employee with hands on the aircraft that gets outsourced get denied? I would not count on TAA because it is pretty obvious the company gets to pick and choose who gets to use it. The COMPANY gets to decide if you get TAA or not. That is a FACT. The funny thing is TAA does not cost American Airlines a cent. That was just their way of “sticking it” to Fleet. You also need to know TAA only applies if the work is outsourced to a foreign entity. Meaning if the work stays in the United States TAA does NOT apply.

Are they going to give us back our week of vacation to take so we can save more jobs?

Second. That was so funny I almost fell out of my chair when I read it. Not really. It was pretty funny though.

Third Oklahoma IS a Right To Work State. However, the Railway Labor Act provides the TWU immunity from Right To Work.
The Federal Railway Labor Act (45 U.S.C.A. § 151 et seq.) prevents the application of state right-to-work laws to the railroad and airline industries.

I like how the TWU says we are trying to minimize layoffs with more vacation time in the summer. Ill see you TUL guys in LAX this summer. Be prepared for 2 hour commute if you want to keep your kids out of the gang areas.
doesn't the fact that we get less vacation mean that the company needs fewer workers?

One would think that, but honestly Don Videtich is proud of the fact that he traded that week of vacation for .43 cents an hour. He explained that in an email. Yes we would need fewer workers due to the loss of vacation and holidays and sick time, but the TWU spins that into saving jobs. My guess that in the first quarter of next year there will be 400 souls who are wondering where their jobs went when they were told by voting yes they would be saved. They didn't listen to the vote no guys who were actually telling them the truth.

Yes and they claimed that we were saving jobs by working more hours and some actually bought into it. .43 an hour? That comes out to $894.40, a week of vacation was worth $1400. Another one of Dons great deals. Well it looks like Dons lies have finally caught up to him, word all over the floor is that by the end of the month he will be gone. Too bad it took ten years too long.

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall when he has to face the people he screwed over?
