Here is a link to the actual letter from the DOJ to the Dallas City Manager dated May 5.
In it they clearly reject Delta and Southwest proposals.
It is hard to see how either could prevail over Virgin for these two gates with this kind of language coming from the DOJ.

But apparently SWA believes that the city can still ignore it.
Gary Kelly has been reported to be appearing before the city council Wednesday to push for the gates. I haven't found proof of it though.

Quizzed by reporters last week, Southwest CEO Gary Kelly said the city — not the Justice Department — should decide the fate of the gates. If Southwest wins, he said, "that is what's best for the city; we think that is what's best for the traveling public."

Going to create 4700 new jobs?
Is that a fact?
LOL
Yes. (but to be fair, they are projections from a study by Campbell-Hill Aviation Group )

It can be read from this study.

http://swamedia.com/media_storage/Campbell-Hill_Economic_Benefit_Analysis_March_2014.pdf

365,000 new visitors to the Dallas area annually who will spend money in the local economy
generating 4,700 new jobs, $214 million in annual earnings to local workers, and $559 million
in local sales per year.

You can peddle that clap trap if you wish... :p
Nothing wrong with being a company cheer leader, just don't beat up others whom do the same thing.
Oh, BTW, I like SW. Just don't drink the koolaid... :p

P.S.
A study is not a fact but a projection of the future.
Future is a funny thing when it doesn't meet projections.
B) xUT
I know, that is why I said it was a projection. you must have been answering me before I could finish editing my post.

Try reading the study.
Believe what you want.

But I didn't see anything in it that said SW will solve/stop global warming and bring peace to the middle east.

You look it up. I was joking also.
do I have to post a toon for you to be able to tell?

After reading the letter I actually see that the gates will go to VA. Not delta and not SWA.  In my opinion they will in fact go to VA.  Which is exactly what I said from the get go.  Unless there some kind of hope that SWA will pull something out of the air.  I will also admit that VA would in fact be the best competitor.  And I will also state that Delta is completely out of the question not getting the 2 gates being divested.   Thx for all links WN.  Great info, but I hate to say, now I really think the gates are going to VA.  We all will hopefully find out sometime Wed...
