Binding arbitration

Does the company ever place what they believe the dollar value of the defined pension is or are they just claiming the TWU doesn't take that into account without anybody having facts and dollar value?
The last time the company gave us a dollar figure for anything in the contract was 2003. We have requested their costs outs several times over the past few years but they have refused to provide any numbers. For some reason they seem very reluctant to do so, I was shocked when they used the union cost out in their statement about the offer, makes you wonder, why? I mean if the union said that the offer was $750 million over the four years it covers you would think that the comapny would counter with 'Oh no, its more like $1.1 Billion", thats pretty much standard negotiating tactics.

So the question begs, and guys on the floor are asking. Now what? Evidentally the company has dismissed our proposal "out of hand". Are they required to explain in detail? Are they required to counter? Seems we are doing all the work and the company just responds with a "NO". Any feeling on when Mr. Kane will decide we are indeed at an impasse? I mean over 3.5 years of "negotiations" and we are still sitting here under a concessionary deal.
Most guys in my shop are too beaten down or too lazy to ask these questions. I try to do my part by researching and passing along what I find. Seriously, enough is enough. I personally felt the twu offer was a bit "low-ball".

Everything is going up except may GOD DAM pay.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Higher energy costs and the steepest rise in food prices in nearly four decades drove wholesale prices up last month by the most in nearly two years

There's a new dam being named after God? or is that an abbreviation for something? And you only get paid more in May?... Wierd.

He might be in the upper elite class of executives who get paid monthly...
Might be an executive getting ready to quit because the April PUPS pale in comparison to his peers elsewhere!

When one stops to consider how relatively little the Centrepork infestation is paid as compared to their "peers", one must stop and ask why they haven't moved on to greener pastures where they can be paid much more for their time and trouble.

I believe it's a simple issue and has nothing to do with their dedication to AMR or the love of the airline business - their supposed "expertise" isn't wanted by the companies that understand what it takes to function and make money.

As for the supposed "subject" of this thread, the company will never accept binding arbitration at this point and this "union" (aka AMR Corp.) will not either as the outcome, considering the pay and benefits at other airlines, would be of benefit to the American Air mechanics - the company is hoping we'll settle for less than parity.

I have to PM u my password so u can correct my butchering of the english language. Better yet come on over and watch my twin girls and keep my wife occupied while I try to post a comment let me know what works better for u. I could also download IE spellcheck but dont know if it works with IE9. I'll bet the IE spellcheck doesnt even compete with your superior intellect I would much rather have you read over and correct my postings. :D

Let me re-phrase
everything is going up except my GOD DAMM pay ;)

was that easier to understand?

Much better, thanks. ;)

Try posting when you're not so stressed, which I realize may be never.
After the Strike and we get our money I believe the stress levels will decrease for everyone, even, believe it or not, management. A happy workforce is much easier to manage.
