I bear no ill will towards the AA guys , they have been through a lot ....

but this just goes to show that our company isn't shy when it comes to throwing money around ...except of course when it comes to their original employee's .
AND WE HAVE NOT???? like someone else said thats your good ole drinkin pal dp at his best. screw the employees take 6 digit figure home and sleeps well

The TWU negotiated that on our behalf before Parker stuck his nose into the tent.He wasn't going to screw around with that equity stake the AA labor groups had negotiated lest he lose their support and have his AA fantasy go poof on him.

Not totally JFK . Some of the monies are of stock which USairways is blended when the New American stock comes out. I dont want this to be an argument among us but for a company to come out of BK and the stock value to be somewhere in the 17$ range is unheard of. Its only because of the 70/30 % that both companies brought to the table. Problem for me is?.....
Where is our 30% in contract language and scope?. He is trying to shove manuer down our throats.

I know we could have never predicted where the 4.8% equity stake was coming from but the fact remains that is is partially from equity in us airways and that chaps my arse!

Better be careful Freedom. The HP rampers got a share of the US rampers profit sharing, you included.

If our members at US AIRWAYS were in negotiations with the 7th biggest airline, it might look like the IAM Alaska air contract.

Wage: $23.43
Vacation: 6 weeks
Sick days: 12 at full pay
Holidays: 10 [time worked on holidays are paid at 2.5 rate plus 8 hours at holiday pay]
Lead pay: $1.25
Shift differ: .51
Longevity pay: .20
Part time %: 35%
Overtime: double time if you work more than 12 hours
retirement: up to 6% company contributions

When will the slap in the face hurt guys?

dont ya think weve already been slapped to the point it hurts..... :) its just a simple case of some like the slappin and cant get enough... but me thinks its time we get a better contract with enhancements to scope better everything else etc enough of the slappin :)

It's a true slap. Thoroughly insulting that AH would cry to the NMB that asking for $22 is ridiculous. He claims the "standalone" US AIRWAYS is only the 5th biggest and can't afford fair wages. Well, then, how about he give us 7th biggest airline wages and time off?

I also like the "Retirement Choice Option" in the Alaska Contract. I think a similar program should be set up by our NC. Our members have a contribution going into the IAMPF and they also have a 401k but no company contribution going into it. Any retirement enhancement ought to engage the 401k so that all 3 prongs of retirement could be achived and the risk of another IAM pension cut would be less.

ARTICLE 23, PENSION PLAN 1 2 A. COPS employees hired before July 19, 2006: 3 4 COPS employees hired before July 19, 2006 will be given the 5 opportunity to choose between the following options during a 6 “Retirement Choice Program” election period offered to eligible 7 employees during 2007. 8 9 1. Remaining with (and accruing future service under) the 10 current COPS Retirement Program, including participation in the 11 Retirement Plan for COPS Employees, and the current matching 12 provisions under the COPS, MRP, Dispatch 401(k) Plan providing a 13 50% company matching contribution (in Alaska Air Group stock) of 14 up to the first 6% of participant’s pre-tax contributions (maximum 15 company matching contribution is 3% of eligible compensation); or 16 17 2. Freezing participation in the Retirement Plan for COPS 18 Employees as of December 31, 2007 and becoming eligible for an 19 enhanced company contribution under the COPS/MRP/Dispatch 401 20 (k) plan beginning January 1, 2008 that will provide a company 21 contribution of 4% of eligible compensation in cash plus 50% 22 company matching contributions in cash of up to the first 4% of 23 participant’s pre-tax contributions (maximum company contribution, 24 including match, is 6% of eligible compensation). Participants who 25 choose this option will receive no additional credited service in the 26 COPS Retirement Plan after December 31, 2007.

Tim, what workgroup is that for in AS, since AS doesn't have Fleet? Also, while I think you've got a valid point, it's a really hard sell when you're talking the proverbial apples and oranges. If it's CS I think that is parallel with Fleet, but it's just as easy to say "Nope, different workgroups, so your comparison is invalid."

AS ramp and stores has 600 people and the top out for ramp is $22.52. This is an apples to oranges comparison based on how many employees are covered.

AS has fleet, and it's rep is the IAM

I thought AS dumped their Fleet employees about 5-8 years ago.

I stand corrected:
