Well I had the wrong information when it came to the TWU/IAM alliance ,I thought I had read somewhere that the government wasn't going to allow ..

I learned about sick policy ,I also learned more about the helping hands agreement which I am no longer in favor of

I attended one of the meetings that our Union was having here in PHX this week and i have to say that i learned alot ... i'm going to have to go to IAM141 at least once a week and try and stay more informed ... i was so poorly informed that i was actually spreading inncorrect information ..

it's a bit overwhelming all of the information and different opinions on all of the labor topics ... i'm amazed at how wildly diverse our membership is when it comes to thoughts on labor and contract negotiations....

Hopefully as I learn more going forwards i'll be able to do a better job raising awareness ...
You are an Idiot! You have been reading and posting in this forum for years. Everyone has repeatedly told you that you were misinformed, wrong, and just plain talking foolish like a friggin’ kid. You rubbed it in our in our faces that you did not care what type of accurate information we presented you with, and you would believe what you wanted to believe. On top of that… you posted the same garbage over and over knowing it was wrong to begin with!

I’m not buying any of your posts now as either sincere, or serious. You have a long history of posting stupid S***! As 700 said… you are real piece of work!

Sorry Roa but you and the others on here provide incomplete information without context , not to mention you often bring attitude when discussing the issues ...then there's the fact that everyone on here sees things so differently having been through different experinces working in seperate
Regions with diverse union leadership .

The AGC's on the other hand spoke with a unifying voice ,answered any questions that were asked of them fully and generally came off as competent .

Yeahh Right! You were provided with links to actual legal case histroy, the Railway Labor Act, actual contractual language, along with any information you requested. This was provide not only by me, but Mike33. Grad, 700 and several others... so... I'm not buyin' it!

Freedom did not just wake-up one morning and say..."Geezzz... I've been wrong all these years... I'll think seek out the truth"! As far as the attitude...take a number and get in line!

You make your own case ....

I'm a baggage handler not a lawyer .... Information has to be presented to me in a format that my mind can comprehend , maybe you can read through pages and pages of legalise RLA ,but I for one have trouble with it .

where do you think some of these posters are currently or started out freedom they started at the bottom and that could be fsa and work their way up but after yrs of going thru what we went thru you still never learn as roa said aint buyin any of it! next time there a ta READ ITS ENTIRELY FRONT TO BACK BEFORE YOU VOTE

Its not about being a lawyer......or a baggage handler. Its about comprehension and playing the devils advocate and saying..." Why did the company put this in there"?( referring to our CBA of course). You failed to take it all in and filter the info. You were feeling the money was your priority, but neglected to realize it comes in many forms. It's education and i will remain neutral about you till later. One thing you have to realize is that some of the information that is from posters won't even be to their immediate benefit but for the benefit of work force in the future. I am one of those, so, digest all you can before regurgitating any opinionated info.

Roa,

I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard an employee mis-state something about our contract, the RLA or anything to do with this job. However, I don't hammer on people that have bad information, I try to educate. People can and have changed their tune when given factual information. I've also learned the information can't be hammered down their throats and that just because you give someone correct information doesn't mean they believe you. If they don't believe me the first time, I try to tell them a different way. You are correct when you tell Freedom that you and many have tried to give him information but the fact is he and others don't believe everything they are told and calling them out doesn't help. Freedom is growing as a Union person and that is all we can hope for. Give him a chance.

P. Rez

Well said.

Has the NMB announced when or if there will be any new talks scheduled btwn the company the union and with the federal mediator in and if soo where would it take place? ive seen on the united part of the iam that they seem to be restarting talks again and all

Freedom, I'm lost. There are a whopping six AGCs for US. You spoke to, what? Two? Three? Of COURSE there was a unifying voice in such a small number! Just the ACTIVE posters here total at LEAST four time the total of AGCs. Every adult knows that each person you add to a group increases the lkelyhood of dissention. In addition, the AGCs are just as varied. They don't all come from one station, nor one region, nor one airline. I'd say they are EXACTLY the same type of people that are in this group. The only difference is that they officially represent IAM141, whereas we represent ourselves and say what we want. Some people who say what they want present it as opinion, others fact.

One of the examples you provide of what you learned was of sick pay. WHY DID YOU WAIT TO ASK? Did you read your CBA? If so, did you ask (assuming you were confused about something) us why it doesn't seem to jive with the CBA? Did you ask a shop steward? Did you ask PRez? You've got all sorts of tools out there, you ignore or reject them, and then all of a sudden the messiah has a ppeared in the form of a few AGCs and you'll now listen? Nope, doesn't work for me.

PRez, I get what your saying about Freedom, really I do. I've given him several chances, even defended him a few times on some minor swing towards intelligence. Every time, however, he reverts back. Give him a chance? OK, how many more?

neci i was on the iam web but i could not find the update for usairways where it says they would be talking i dont know if you can direct me there or not

If you "give me a chance or not " is irrevelant to me at this point ....there is NO one that I'm going to sway reading this message board ,because at this point I think its safe to say that anyone reading this is a committed union member and we all are in agreement that we must work harder as a union to move towards our goal ( which is to provide leverage to our negoating committee) ...

As for learning more about sick policy ,it was in relation to other airlines and negotiations....

My strongly held opinion is that our fight in my view is not on here with each other but with the complacent members of our union ....

Firing them up , pissing them off and getting them motivated should be our number one goal ...

With that said , its harder to connect with the offline masses, the message has to be just right and the facts have to be correct ...

So yah I've got a lot of learning to do before I can be effective with the less involved members .

So yah I've got a lot of learning to do before I can be effective with the less involved members .

Remember. the more they ask, the more you learn, and the more they learn....you dont have to be effective. You just have to be inquisitive. If you are not then you wont gain a thing but other peoples perception. Which is not always correct.

What that saying?. " I can't see around the corner, but i can see an idiot a mile away "...
