The reasons to stay in section 6 negotiations before transition talks. Us needs to make things right with their own represented employees before a seamless merger. the company has survived to this point due largely to the concessions obtained by labor in 2 BK proceedings. Before they are allowed to reap projected billions in profits with the announced merger it's time to pay the piper.
Couldn’t have said it any better myself Cargo! Section Six NOW-- not transition later! If need be… let six bleed into transitions! Accepting scraps thrown onto the ground with only the promise of something better at a later date is not acceptable! The 141 and the 142 have the dubious distinction of being in the same boat… I say it’s time to utilize our own synergies!

To all AA employees that read this thread on this forum. You really see whom your dealing with when out of the mouths of usairways employees come the somewhat identical battles that you have endured of recent years. DP is not your savior yet!
If this Management group can do to its own employee group what you are reading about then that MOU the TWU signed is a smoke screen for years of enduring. When US cant even negotiate in good faith, considering who helped them sustain the position they are in at the moment, then dont expect any better when this merger is completed. Your MOU is not written in stone . If you believe you deserve better then keep informed thru this forum, because things are going to heat up. Its a sad situation but i believe if we stick together a hopeful outcome can reached. If we become divided then we will be locked in a corner for the next 6-10 years while US/AA management reaps from the hard work we have done.

In Solidarity

very well said orgac roability and mike i agree with all of u stay sec 6 thru to and in trans let mgmt reap what they sow and if they have labor trouble so be it they need to reap what they sow

It also needs to start treating part timers like full time as they do at amr. Same health care for pt and same retirement contributions unlike 40% of our membership that is part time but getting half pension, double health care cost but paying full time dues.

I agree, but I also feel the need to point out that it's the IAM that sets the dues, not US. PT employees paying FT dues is not the companys responsibility. The rest is, but not that.

right or wrong the boys from 142 I talk to here in my little corner of paradise seem more interested in electing another union

Cltrat, its gonna be close. Seems like phl clt and phx will go ibt. Outlying stations like ord will go iam i believe along with pit. Gotta give shifano credit, he is probably the best agc and seems to take care of his stations.

any proof of that? i cannot imagine phl and clt or even dca going ibt may be amfa before ibt i dont know

roa id imagine clt and phl and may be even dca and or pit would also be huge iam as well i dont know may be 700 can elaborate more on that end of it

I believe they are referring to MTC 142, not Fleet.
thats what I was talking about at any rate, I have yet to talk to an amt here that was pro iam. I am sure there are some just I havent spoke to them.
Most to be honest seem more anti IAM rather than pro IBT

Curious to know if MTC was non union before the merge with US and Pi. That could be a reason for voting the association down in CLT. Gives them the feeling of getting rid of the IAM and not having to accept the IBT
