Everything is relative. On the 50 or so segments I've flown on AA since they rolled both DFW and ORD, the longest connection time I've seen is 75 minutes or so, domestic. That's on the last "peak" of the day.

Most are still 60 minutes or less.

A 60 minute or 75 minute connection is not so bad... it may lower stress levels... people wont freak out on Express flights waiting for bags to be unloaded, shove each other down 757 aisles, or have a heart attack running from AWest to F. The PHL B/C concourses wont feel like Ellis Island and there may be room to walk within your own space and maybe snag two chairs together in a boarding area. Incoming PHL customers wont have to stare out the window at those dreary refineries for an hour while stuck on the taxiway.

Luckily our hub airports have alot to offer in terms of downtime- just ask US crews (who shouldnt be sitting in them for three hours). PHL, CLT, and especialy PIT offer a plethora of shopping, dining, drinking, and even beauty and spa amenities to pass time.
