April/May 2013 Pilot Discussion

I heard Fergi and Koontz plus a few more with USAPA leaders at company HQ.

They were granted class status. Wouldn't that bind all west pilots to a Silver approved deal? I don't see anything coming from it.

Didn't Judge Silver define the class in her order last December? I imagine she will bind that same class again when she makes her decision.

Actually, she amended the order to create a west class. I think that for the purposes of this action it remains in force.

If I was a Plutomioum army of LEO donor I would be pissed to hear about the Nic going away. Remember Nic or nothing, money well spent boys..... I would start to think conditions and restrictions.

I'm 'plutonium.' I look at it as doing what we had to do in the face of the facts at the time. I never thought any kind of victory, for lack of a better term, was ever guaranteed in any way, shape, or form. The Leo lawyers were even very up front about all the risks from the very first meeting I went to early on.

Alot of things are still in play, I don't think anything is 'won' or 'lost' by anyone yet. Whatever happens, happens. Life wll go on.

Or, even better than that, have the west guys vote on the proposal, incorporate it into an SLI, then have a vote by the entire membership on the final SLI agreement. I think that could work, and everyone would be included. How much more fair could it be?
What's in it for me?
I'm going to need compensation for any compromise in my position.
LOA96 was designed to produce a new contract - including the integrated seniority list. The MOU I voted on was 'seniority neutral' and was an agreement for the merger with AA, not A&W.
I need a contract to complete LOA96 with sweeteners in it so that it generates my 'yes' vote.
Management needs to know that nothing is free - especially our seniority. How bad do they want this? 10 billion worth?
Cheers.

Following POR there is no more east and west. One pilot group. If the west is not allowed to bid east damages begin. Every west pilot is senior enough to be group 2 captains, that's where the damages come from.
So every Westie can hold group 2 Captain. Now do you see you got a frkn windfall. Please spin it how it is okay for your whole pilot group to hold the left seat. What a idiot.

She can't answer, she busy waiting by the mailbox waiting for her damages check she won this past tuesday.....

We haven't heard from the stock clerk in quite a while. You remember him, the labor law expert who knows everything about the RLA and maintains that we can get around the Nicolau no matter what. Maybe the westies should hire him to go tell Judge Silver how wrong she is.
Haven't heard from a lot of the big mouths that said we were toast. It might not go DOH but the Westoffs won't be cashing in that lotto ticket either.

I have ZERO problem with USAPA "going away." I have real problems with your nonsense about APA being able to make the federal law known as McCaskill-Bond moot simply by filing and getting single-carrier status.

It's absurd.

I trust the APA to represent me when the time is ripe (there's that word again.) When it comes to SLI, that time will be AFTER the SLI process is complete. Not before. McCaskill-Bond did not become law simply to be window dressing.
Technical questions? Answer carefully.

Who represented the east pilots during the us AAA/AWA merger?

When we all become APA who will represent the American pilots during the seniority integration?

When you figure out the correct answer to those questions you can answer your own question about M/B being window dressing.

Did you forget about the representation vote? You remember, the 200+ cards?

You're an idiot.

Read the MOU, or get someone who can read it to you.

I agree. there would have to be enough in it for the MAJORITY to pass it. That would ensure that someone doesn't give away too much.

It would be fine with me, since the C&Rs mostly protect the west jobs. If you don't want them, let your lawyers know soon.

I don't know what I would call it, maybe "Army of Carthaginians", or maybe "Air Force of Kamikazes"? What do you think?

I like "Air Force of Kamikazes"! Maybe they could answer the age old question, "Why did Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?"

So the "meet and greed" got cnxed, guess Marty couldn't get a bullet proof vest by then.

I think his reference is the continual cry by the westies that they have nobody that can negotiate for them. No one to represent them at the "table" (whatever table that is) But they sure as hell can gather around to find someone to represent them via the courts and a law suit. They have cried that since single carrier, they have no way to come up with some process to get to some compromise of the NIC, It's just not possible. BUT they can organize and keep alive a 5 yr lawsuit that still isn't ripe....

Exactly.

wasn't the victory party meet and greet canceled from ,,,,,well lack of victory?
it seems some of you arm chair lawyers need to stick to flying airplanes and stay out of the prediction business

But would such a compromise or post-NIC negotiated list have been possible without judicial fiat once separate west representation was abolished?

I think so. The west pilots put their faith in AOL. Had they advised the west group to a different course of action the majority would have followed. Any west pilot could have still sued, but it would have been even more of an uphill battle.
