Another School Massacre

That is a possibility. They can also take your house, cars, bank accounts, credit cards, medical csreand anything else that is linked to you yet no one take about that. Probably because there is no history to support such a theory. Granted that just because something has not happened does not mean it wot but I think there are much easier ways for the government to screw with the people than to take their guns. Besides when it comes to that registration or lack there of will be the least of your worries.

So with out registration how do you propose weapons be kept out of the hands of people who should not have them?

Registration won't accomplish that at all, background checks will.

Really? Lets say I own a gun. If the gun is not registered what is to prevent me from selling you that gun on the corner? No one knows I own the gun and no one knows you bought the gun. The only way a back ground check works is if there is a requirement to do so upon the sale of a gun. The only say to require it is to make sure the gun is registered.

Yes, really.
I recall you stating somewhere previously registration would weed out those who shouldn't have a gun.

One way for government to screw with the people is to confiscate their 401k,s....................but, have to get their guns first !

So, "WITH" registration, how do you propose weapons be kept out of the hands of people who should not have them ?

I'm sure the criminal gun dealer will be more than happy to register all the weapons, he plans on selling !

How many unregistered guns in the US and who has them?
Government doesn't know.
Mandatory registration? I'm sure that will work.
Kill someone with an unregistered gun, what they going to do? Execute you twice?

Yes. Eventually it would since every gun would be registered just like a car. When the gun is sold the title must be transferred with a background check. If there is no registration what is going to make someone do a background check?

It will take a long time for older weapons to work their way out of the system. My plan for registration is more about preventing new weapons from getting to the hands of the wrong people.

If guns are title from point of production then the gun dealer will not have access to new weapons. No system is perfect. My idea does not prevent anyone from legally obtaining a weapon.

And that's done by background checks at purchase.

Again. we are taking about new guns notnold ones. Some of the older ones will be registered but there will always be holes in any system. Just because a system is not perfect does not mean it cannot work better than what we have now which is effectively nothing.
