Newtown Calls for Armed School Officers
The Newtown Board of Education wants more armed police officers in the town's four elementary schools after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.
Last night, they decided to ask the town to approve the request to include one additional full-time Newtown police at each of the elementary schools in next year's budget.
Members of the board will meet today with state and federal officials about obtaining additional funding for security.

President Barack Obama says he has not only fired a gun, but has done it regularly.
"In fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time," the president told The New Republic. "Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there.
"And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations.. And I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake."
Obama said he understands why folks in rural areas who grew up hunting might be very protective of that tradition and their gun rights, but he said guns in urban areas present a much different reality.
"So it’s trying to bridge those gaps that I think is going to be part of the biggest task over the next several months," Obama said. "And that means that advocates of gun control have to do a little more listening than they do sometimes."

Be fair here! Why, just the fact that he doesn't even know how to properly place the butt of the weapon into his shoulder shouldn't be an issue....? Why would anyone doubt that he's being completely "honest" about being a frequent shooter of anything other than his mouth here?
Equally amusing is the fact that, even as POTUS, he couldn't find a weapon properly fitted to him, so his off-hand's index finger wasn't needing to be placed nearly on the barrel....? Speaking of fingers: You've gotta' love the hand position and that of the other fingers, after all; who doesn't do a "lot" of shooting without first making sure of placing their fingertips onto heating metal barrels? I can't imagine anything that'd improve skeet scores more. Speaking of which: If he does supposedly do this regularly..well..how many birds does he normally hit? We already know from long ago, that even a mere bowling ball's more than he can handle at all well. Yep...That pathetic clown's the "real deal" all right. Heck!...He might even be nearly as good with a shotgun as Dick Cheney proved to be. Some sorry excuses for people will believe any BS, no matter how utterly ridiculous it is.

But...as ridiculous and inept as he is....he and PEOPLE JUST AS INEPT as him can be sold a gun. Even an assault weapon. YOu know the kind...The gun owner cleaning his weapon and grabbing a quick snack . Or maybe Deciding that the SOFA was the best place to store the gun. Or maybe the one where the daycare provider was packing heat
Three examples of people n my town in the past year who are MORE inept than the president that legally bought guns. Kinda gives you the warm fuzzies, doesn't it? Because REQUIRING any kind of training is an infringement on their rights to carelessly bear arms.
