As a 26 year AA employee, FCFS is the best policy.  It allows all hard working employees an equal opportunity to get on the limited seats available.  I could not believe that the 16 year US Air employee was complaining that they could be bypassed by my children, who are minors.  What a heartless, gutless and selfish individual! So therefore, if you are split from your children due to high capacity, your children will be stuck in a hub station because another employee just showed up at his home station.  I would love to give this person a piece of my mind.  I saw her made that statement and I was flabbergasted. I wanted to say to her, Just get up early and catch the first flights out.  There is no way that I can get into a hub station early enough to catch the first wave of flights.  I'm now seeing why the employee groups at US Air and America West were so dysfunctional over the years.  People stop the madness.  All employees should be given a fear chance regardless of their tenure at the airline.  Please stop, you are not entitled to the seats because of seniority.
Buy that men a drink!!!!! Somebody making common sense and a little logic. Not much of that around today.

First come first served is the only fair way.  Also the through passenger having priority just makes so much sense.  It would be funny though to see this lady go through DFW and try to use her 16 years seniority to get on a flight.  Does she not realize AA hasn't hired anyone for about 25 years?  What AA has done to the retirees is criminal though.  D2R is a slap in the face.  I am also amused at these mercenaries like the one guy who was looking for 55 with 5 yrs seniority for lifetime flying benefits.  That seems really wrong to me.  Unifying all three airlines is going to be a chore.  Considering that U.S. Air and America West are still separate airlines what makes anyone think AA won't be as well?  Parker is a corporate pirate and that is all there is to it.  Was I the only AMT who was not in favor of the merge?  Parker claims AA would not have made it without the merge.  I think U.S. Air would not have made it and I think they needed us but we didn't need them.  AA was in dire need of new management but I would not have chosen Parker.  I think he and Horton are two peas in a pod only Horton doesn't seem to mind people knowing he's an a$$hole but Parker is a snake in the grass.  Says one thing and does the other.  Such as his statement that he wants to pay us what the other airlines pay their employees but then offers the IAM 1% raise if they give up holidays.  I still say the IAM will fold in the end.  Maybe their title2 guys can call for a roll call vote too.

The IAM is not going to accept the offer, it has all ready been rejected, and the IAM has been pushing for a release.

They are going to meet with the NMB on April 30th and May 1st, and supposedly the company has a new offer to pass on.
Yeah they will meet and offer some POS just to show they are bargaining in good faith then say see you next month!!

IAM saving face just like TWU.

This is the new process, regrettably....

VOTE NO to the TWU/IAM association!!!   They are bad enough by themselves do we really want to find out what they are like as an association.

The IAM will fold like a cheap tent.  AA has pushed concessions for over 10 years to the TWU who has accepted them knowing the members would be hurt badly by them and make it impossible to ever regain.  AA will drag their feet and eventually the IAM will jump at the concessions and then claim victory like the TWU has done.  AA will keep their AMTs at 5 holidays per year and will get the IAM to agree to the same.  They'll also agree to all the other crap in the current contract.  Just a matter of time.  Parker learned the airline business at AA.  He is a shyster just like Arpey and Horton before him.  They learned from the ultimate shyster Cradall who kept AA mechanics the lowest paid among the major airlines with the TWU claiming industry leading contracts.  U.S. Air mechanics best bet is to dump the IAM before they get sold out.  Just keep remembering Parker telling you he wants to pay his people what the other airlines pay theirs.  Since he is so eager to say that at every conference and it is an obvious lie then you can't believe anything else he says.  But the TWU wanted him running the show.  Parker also says AA needed U.S. Air more than U.S. Air needed AA.  I don't believe that either.  AA had more money in the bank than the entire worth of U.S. Air.  Now Parker controls it.

Amfa and the likes of Chuck have done nothing but tear down unions. I doubt by their actions they have a clue how to represent anyone. History has proven this time and time again. Chuck, Bob, Dave and Ken all have a proven track record of Failures. Just remember these same individuals have represented members in the past and all have failed. Blame as you will, But the truth is? You all have a unique ability to live and breath negativity. It's never your fault!!! In Solidarity, CIO
In your mind, anyone who has a differing opinion, or chooses to support a different idea, is tearing down unions and failing?

At least I dont use the "union" to get relatives and friends hired, and pursuit my own personal gains like you do.

You are an expert on living and breathing negativity, you have never once been able to advocate staying with the TWU based on the record, all you can do is campaign on a negative position against change by attacking individuals that support change.

And until the TWU becomes a membership controlled labor organization, it isn't my fault or any other members fault of the TWU.

Can anyone indicate what might be going on at US as far as a drive is concerned??   Do you guys at AA even care if there is a drive for cards at US?  If you guys are pressing forward with any kind of drive at AA and/or US and are just keeping it hush hush this time around and plan on an announcement out of the blue just like the JB pilots just announced, then by all means just ignore this post.   Good luck guys, looking for some good news in 2014...

swamt,

We are trying hard here at AA to join AMFA like the intelligent AMT's at Southwest Air. It's going to be a fight but we're ready this time.  I'm not sure, but we're talking to some of the folk over at USair.  It's better that they get on the bus now before it leaves them.

What do the numbers at AA look like compared to US?

If AA goes AMFA before the MX groups combine, does the IAM/US mechs constitute a showing of interest?

Got it AANYER, keep up the good work.  I have a very good feeling it will happen this time around for both AA as well as US.  They will see the light in the long run...

There is a card drive at US although it is still in it's infancy, but we have a conf call every week and we do have US guys that every week dial in and participate.

We have calculated what we need and have both US and AA lists from the NMB.

Now you guys at SWA need to do your part and support both us and the US guys when it happens and not try to keep it all the SWA way because that is not going to happen.

We are not going to take your money or your locals but we are and will be a part of them. Like that or not.

this is what is going to make the locals strong and the class and craft as we move into the future.
