I disagree as it was told to me by upper mgt based on manpower per shift and location. Take PHX line Ron for example they get 4 vacation days and 2 floating days available per night. That's every night! There seniority in PHX is fairly high. At one point it took 10yrs just to hold crap days off(MTW,,TWT) on line Ron. Now it's junior in those dhit days off and senior on the other days off. But the number of days off for vacation and floaters remained the same. Talk to upper mgt and have them explain the calculation for the vacation/floaters available each day.

Swadl,
How many mech's is there on Phx line Ron? Is this how they determine the #'s off of mech's per shift or is it by crew or a combination of both?

Phx has over 300 mechanic total, but not sure how many are on line Ron . You can pull that still up on swalife. There are no crews just bid locations, not AirTran anymore.

PHX line Ron has about 23 mechanics a night. They are slotted for 5 vacation slots and 2 floating days off a night. The number of vacation and floating days off a night is determined by the number of mechanics that are on that shift. Another example is DAL line Ron is slotted for 3 vacation days and 1 floating day off a shift and they have about 12 mechanics a night that are regularly schueduled. Hope this clears this up. Any more questions please ask.

My last check which was a while ago phx had around 347 mechanics total. If someone from PHX could chime in with more accurate numbers it would help.

I bet the AirTran guys like there 5 th year raise on there 5 th year hire date. I wonder if it was a big difference because sOme said its only twO or three bucks. Lol

We really need someone to come and explain all these changes for us and local mgts threw out the old AirTran maintenance network.

You can day trade with all three shifts.overtime at the beginning of the year starts of by senority but once you accure hrs then it goes by hrs. It's not like your contract where senority has it all . Sick time is being grieved as we speak. What about management? Management can not touch a plane or give out work or it's a grievance . For the most part our sups are good but I heard different about airtrans.

If you are in Orlando I would just go over and talk to the southwest guys. I am pretty sure they will bring you guys up to speed how we do things contract wise and work wise and how we deal with management .

Ok I think we should get a 4% increase each year for the next four years up 1% from my orig and a signing bonus. We are making money and the company never sticks to what they say they will do . They are always breaching or trying to breach our contract. Tired of there bs and if inspection won there backfilling , well it then it should be for all departments.

I say 5% each year, 5% signing bonus, and 2.5% bonus. Except for the signing bonus, all percentiles apply to each and every 4 years. 2nd Q earnings was a record, you all watch 3rd Q probably will be too. I still believe this is why the company wants to offer an extention. They are also concerned with what the dispatchers recieved with a mediator and also know full well we (mechanics) will in fact compare ourselves with UPS wages as the dispatchers did in nego and was succesfull. No longer can the company deny us using UPS for comparos.
Let's not forget that the cleaners recieved a 9% jump right off the bat.

BTW; Anyone know when negos start for us? I think I have heard in October, is this true? Thanks.
