AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

Okay now listen, before you go harassing the wrong person and destroying whatever name he may have for himself, i am NOT DT!!! He is a very opinionated mechanic and he did come from TPA, but that is not who I am!! Relieve yourself from this hard on you have for me, because the truth is, I am more than a single person. It's funny, you guys think you have this all figured out but you couldn't be further away from the truth!! Besides, this thread is for the contract negotiations, I was hoping we would be past all these unnecessary posts and moving forward with OUR future contract already!!

So for those who believe I am DT with the above mentioned employee number, you are wrong. Leave the guy alone, he has nothing to do with this account.

@linguy, yea it's pretty amazing how many they've found in the most recent weeks but they need to be very wary, they are keeping tabs on the guys that keep writing them up (so i've heard). I don't know what their intentions are (management), but I'm sure that if we don't all back each other up in this situation, a single person may fall...

@aai717tech, I heard that you did in fact cross the picket line once before!! And what do you think I have to gain off "brown nosing" these SWA guys on an internet forum?? They don't know me just like I don't know them, so where's the gain there? That's probably the dumbest comment I've heard on this forum to date... All I want is for us to move onto a better future for ALL of us, including you! I want to get along with the SWA guys seeing as we will be one of them very shortly. Now you either accept it or Get the Fk out! Those are the only options we have and I choose to accept it and move on, it would be wise for you to do the same...

@[email protected], No, the person that everyone is referring to on here as DT is not the only person that came to MCO from TPA when it shut down. There were several who came but all because I mentioned TPA, you guys automatically assume I must be formally from there. That again is inaccurate. And it wasn't a person who squealed on them, there was simply no one there for a gate call in the morning and that's what triggered the closing..

@Exchiefsteward, I never said you were a bad guy, outside of work, I actually think you're pretty cool to hang out with :). I said that you were in to deep with the T-cock and that's not a good influence for future votes or negotiations seeing as there are quite a few people who do listen and follow your advise and my fear is that your advise isn't actually your advise. I was proud when you guys took the reigns and formed a committee, but you went behind almost the entire memberships back and did it, and you did it with the guidance of you're Trebelcock and the former attorney that screwed us out of numerous contracts.. Maybe you can understand that perspective...

Enough already with the irrelevant postings, such as this one is, lets stay on topic in this thread and Get the Fk out of my ASS already, you guys are starting to sound pretty pathetic in your feeble attempts to find out my identity(ies)!!

AMEN, we run 190+ a day , and they wont backfill, or call ot. We continuously run 5+1 , and often time less.. they dont care.

And that's why I believe there should be some verbiage in our contract that forces them to call OT, set the bar or a range that triggers more people required! 190/day with 5+1 is INSANE!! All it takes is a single out of service A/C to screw all that up! wow...

Ok I started a new thread for all your complaints or head hinting activities that are not contract related. Let's please keep this thread on topic. This up coming contract is our own lively hood. Keep the ideas coming and keep it real!

AvTech04,
I have set back and read too much of your non sense to stay quit. With you, I don’t know where to start. You have not one clue as to what just happened in the past two years and if you are more than one then you are all clueless. You bash Atl. Mech’s, because they are the ones who elected the stewards who was on the committee and you bash the other mech’s from the other AT stations for electing their stewards who was on the committee, including MCO. Thripledick didn’t choose anyone, hell, he wanted 3 members on the committee and he didn’t really give a #### about MCO. The ones who fought to get the full committee and the ones who at one time put their jobs on the line for your sorry ass was the Atl. Stewarts and committee members. They wanted everyone represented that includes inspectors, mech’s GSE, leads and tech support. That also included every station. Guess what, it didn’t make us friends with Trib. and it sure didn’t make us popular with the union. The union wanted to sit on it as long as they could to continue taking your money for union dues and buy them time to bring ASA into the fold. Why don’t you ask anyone in stores and ask them how far along they have gotten on their negotiations, their IBT and IBT. Think about where we would be right now if it was not for two Atlanta stewards who went against the union and talked the company into allowing them to bring together stewards and mech’s from every station to get answers and ideas from everyone. I assume you didn’t answer that call? The problem with guys like you or your little ‘CLICK” GROUP is you never show up for the fight but when it is over and you come out of your little hole, you talk about the fight as if you were really there, a part of it, but in reality you your gutless and didn’t have a clue as to what took place. I really don’t care who you are, your useless to me and every true member out there, you’re the guy sitting in the meetings I have been to in MCO, who want have one question to ask or one opinion to give in the meeting but have all the answers, wrong ones, after the meeting talking your stupid ####. What I can’t stand, is you get on this forum and spout out crap you have no idea what you are talking about and also talking about fellow members that showed up for the fight and your sitting back in the shadows sucking your thumb. I just hope no one from SWA AMFA believes your stupidity and lack of insight.

I think we need to do something about our health insurance. It goes up every year and I think UPS has it in there contract that they pay nothing for there's. We need a cap on it!!!!! What do you guys think

(Exhaling a deep breath out)

AT96, read the post directly above yours.... There's a place for rant, raves, $itch and moaning now.. I'm sorry, but I'm not entertaining your post until you can at least follow the simple instructions posted directly before yours... And maybe you'd like to call a truice for a bit while we reflect on the sudden loss of our brother!! The committee, or Atlanta stewards, are the last thing on any of our minds right now.

Thanks for directing AT96 to a different thread!!

2001HD- I completely agree with you. Employees should be free and we need to have get something in our contract about health Ins. Remember just because we post ideas here doesn't mean our ALRs are reading this forum. Please everybody email your ALRs with your ideas!

Under the AT contract we are allowed to exchange banked sick days, for as long they are available, from the day you retire to pay for your insurance. You simply cash in the number of hours to pay for the insurace each month. This benefits the company as well by giving the mechanics the insentive to not use as many sick days. This would be more likely to pass by the company and you as the union don't have to give somthing up,somewhere else in the contract.

Avtech00

I have copied and now pasted my comment on that topic heading, however since your remarks were made on this forum topic that is where mine will also remain.

i also believe there should be at the very least a clause in the new contract which deals with back filling of vacation days, training class, and long term illnesses.

Does the company restrict the number of mechanic that can be off at one time a shift?

Yes the number of vacation/floating days off varies depending on how many people are on that shift and location. But it is limited. Also we are able to exchange our sick time in for cobra insurance so many hrs of sick time equals so much cobra insurance provided your not eligible for medicare. I think that age is 65 but I may be wrong.
