American Airlines Seeks Recall Of Laid-Off Workers

Now that we have some fine former TWA F/As back working, I bet to say they would want the next aquired airlline F/A workforce stapled to the bottom... Most F/AS on this earth want to keep everyday of their senority...

Being on the line and talking to some of the fine former TWA F/As , its clear that they did not gladly and wilingly give up their senority to Ozark. Lots of bitc***g til this day. You have this image that the TWA F/As stepped aside and said here go ahead of me , take my senority. NOBODY wants to give up their senority.

You first mistake is to think you are blessed with ability to know what is in someone elses mind such as your thinking I have the image that TWA F/As stepped aside saying "take my seniority." I gotta tell you, thinking that you have such powers is likely to eventuate in mental illness. Psychiatric wards are full of people who think that way. Secondly, both pilots and F/As were given DOH out of sincere belief that it was the right thing to do for the greater good, a concept that seems to way out of your reach.

That is completely wrong. I can't say there was no discussion or no disagreement, but it was all over in a matter of weeks. I was out with the strike for two years after the OZ/TW merger, but I can say I never heard a single complaint in 25 years about giving OZ DOH.

I recall the first time I flew with an ex-OZ FA on a Madrid trip (most stayed in STL and were slow to trickle out to other bases) and she outbid me for the galley on a 747. It never occurred to me to even imagine this wasn't fair. We went out together in MAD and showed her all our usual haunts, and had a great time.

The agents and ramp service were given DOH also. AA and their unions need to take lessons on what happened back in 1986. Oh, I am sorry, you can not teach an old DOG new tricks.
 
There is a big difference between TWA's purchase of Ozark and AA's purchase of TWA. Ozark was still a viable air carrier that wasn't on the verge of bankruptcy when it was aquired. TWA on the other hand was debt ridden piece of junk airline leveraged to the helt when AA(I should say dumbass Carty)made the fatal stupid decision to aquire it. Why don't you crybaby TWA people sue Don Carty for your seniority and leave the real employees of AA alone?

That has all changed because of the way AA and it's Unions handled this acquisition! If the merger of Delta and Northwest falls through, it well be because the pilots couldn't work out their Seniority issues. If their merger proposal would have happened before AA/TWA, I believe it would have been less of an issue! ------ What I'm trying to say is I believe the way AA and their Unions handled this affair has changed the Industry forever! And not for the better! :down:

I've also heard that the LAX local has run to Kasher to try and prevent this!!! Although with LAX's Local web sight closed to "outsiders", this all is hard to confirm!!!! :down:

You must be talking about AMTs, because the ramp. facilities, automotive and stores, all have been recalled. long ago.

I have not heard about any ex TWAers AMTs being recalled.

I am not from LAX, but I thought LAX was a 4/10/2001 occupational senority date station for ex TWA employees, not a 25% station.

I have not heard about any ex TWAers AMTs being recalled.
