Things are twisted, in this negotiation context, management is our advocate and the Association is the corporate raider trying to oppress workers. The IAM still is stalling due to the IAM Pension grab, and the Association is throwing us all under the bus due to future headcount and future dues.Sure but it wont be expedited by any a job action or i hate to say for uour sake imformational picketing
Whereas the company has fought for us to get rid of the critical IAM Pension in order for us to finally have a retirement option that can further our retirement planning. Toss in a 40% contribution increase as well that the Association is fighting hard against.
So the question becomes, why picket on the side of the enemy? It is the Association which has struck down our progress due to its own business plan for future dues and future union pension interest. It doesn't give one damn about any of us.
The saving grace in all of this is that the mediators understand that the company offer is far superior to Delta and United in scope, wages, benefits, and protections, and knows that the final offer is leading industry. While it is unlikely that the mediators will schedule any more sessions, if remains possible that future sessions can be scheduled if the union comes to its senses and moves off of some of its unfounded positions. Any movement would encourage the mediators. But the company's last offer is its last offer.
No movement means ice for years and years until the union allows a vote. Remember, there is scientific data from my page that shows 97% of all members want full disclosure and a vote. The opinion has more variance about how someone will vote, but the data is clear, 97% want to see the offer and vote.
