I think one thing both the TWU (Jim Little) and the IAM (Tom Buffenbarger) didn’t discuss when putting together this Association (Or care about) was the philosophical differences they might have between styles of Negotiating?

There’s no doubt especially now under John Samuelsen that the TWU is totally more militant than the IAM prefers.

Just so I’m clear this is not just an AA thing but in all areas where I see the two groups as separate entities representing their members.

Multiple roads can ultimately get to the same destination. All I can do honestly is hope and have faith we both are looking to get to the same place. Really can’t see why we wouldn’t be though?

Ill have to wait and see what the iam style of negotiating is, as have yet to see it.
The only thing i have seen up to now is that it resembles the twu of the past.

And you won't see it until there is some major threat of layoffs in an IAM station. People like The Baskett-case do nothing but lie on a daily basis. IAM is doing nothing but stalling because their members got AA money and job security while maintaining US air benefits. So while there is "some" truth that the company wants certain things the bigger issue is that the ones(IAM) that say their in there fighting for you are lying through their teeth. The IAM could care less if we ever get a contract cuz their in heaven right now laughing all the way to the bank every two weeks. Then we gotta get insulted by the Baskett-case as he lies to our face with his fairytale updates smh. Until somehow, some way, we rid ourselves of the cancer aka the IAM there is no light at the end of the tunnel
