“FOR THE MECHANICS” In other words F me. You don’t give a chit if I get a raise or a contract or not.

In other words the Association can keep the “UNSKILLED” worthless rabble.

You know Buck it’s AMT’s like you that don’t make it easy sometimes. I swear you really don’t make it easy.

Relax it is an opinion that I have never followed through with and I am actually upset with the IAM, including the mechanics. The past was not directed at the Rampers or you specifically but industrial unionism. I know we cannot function without the rest of the Union Employees.
I have to admit that I have carried a chip on my shoulder, blaming the wrong people. As I look back if I had any anti position it was those in New York that actually are screwing everyone over, the TWU International masses that controlled the rest and being outnumbered has never been ideal. It always placed the mechanics at the lowest point in the system.

I would not have any idea how to do your job.

UPDATE: On February 1, 2012, American Airlines announced it would seek to terminate all four of its pension plans. Responding to the news, PBGC Director Josh Gotbaum said: "Before American takes such a drastic action as killing the pension plans of 130,000 employees and retirees, it needs to show there is no better alternative. Thus far, they have failed to provide even the most basic information to decide that."
responding to news of a possible American Airlines merger with US Airways, PBGC Director Josh Gotbaum said: “We’re continuing to work for a strong airline that offers dependable air service, provides jobs, and preserves its pensions. In order to get the best resolution for everybody, all options should be on the table.”
PBGC Director Josh Gotbaum had this to say: "It is great progress and good news that American recognizes it can reorganize successfully and preserve its employees’ pension plans. We’re also glad the company is willing to work with us to preserve their pilot plan too."

Thanks

We agree to disagree on being in a “Catch All” Transportation Union other than a specifically “Class and Craft” Union.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with disagreeing or having civil debates.

I know we cannot function without the rest of the Union Employees.

I’ve always thought it’s better to have people on your side than trying to go into all the battles strictly by yourself.

We should “help” each other.

There have I think been times in your career when you were 100% right. Resources weren’t always allocated evenly among those the TWU Represented.

I hope you can look at the structure of the TWU today and say that maybe we’re all fairly equally represented. I do know that’s what they’re trying to do.

BTW Buck last week John Samuelsen, Alex Garcia, Mike Mays and Gary Peterson were at the Local 591 Meeting here in MIA answering Mechanics questions.

Well put it to you this way. I could teach you how to do mine a lot faster than you could teach me how to do yours. :)

Your mother probably taught you the finer side of sitting properly in a chair, like a Crew Chief.

She did. But my legs are so damn long (6’1’) that I like to put my feet up on whatever I can.

So I do slouch in chairs.

Hello, when will AA twu and us airway IAM finish merging

Eventually we will all be under one contract for each group when our Negotiators strike deals and we vote them in.

The TWU/IAM Association will still exist but won’t have much interaction outside of any issues that arise in enforcing the Contracts.

I believe they’re obligated to meet 2 times per year under the Association agreement.

As of right now IAM AMT can't transfer over to a TWU AMT position. (Vise versa) Do you think that will be possible in the future?

As soon as we have JCBA’s in place you’ll be able to transfer any where you want as long as there’s an opening.

If you go from an IAM to a TWU represented location they’ll just have you sign a dues check off card and they will become your representative. (Vice versa)

The second Thursday of never. or....
next Friday. or....
they already have.
Seems to me, that's a good question, with different answers depending on what you read and believe. I wouldn't think until after we have a joint contract.
