I’ll this case, binary thinking is fine; the Plan is either in good shape, or it isn’t. The ways to determine that are objective and data-driven. Easy.

Kev I’d like your outsiders point of view. I’m sure you read our last update. Do you think it’s time we give up and give in?

I mean they did promise to let us keep 40 cities so that should help you stay in yours.

dude, our union gave up when it laid its leverage down. it can now keep its hands up for as long as it wants cuz nobody is going to give it another gun.
sorry

Yep. Things are going to get chilly.
Well actually, things remain frozen for the TWU members and that looks to be the case for the foreseeable future while the IAM leadership made sure their members were properly dressed and remain warm and toasty.

You're very right and the IAM should be commended for taking care of their members. Mgmt knows things are in their favor, so I expect no movement from them. These are not the kind of people that care about employee morale it seems. They are for themselves and the shareholders, of which they are substantial members of with all the stock they get. I'm fine with the IAM people being in a good spot, but this situation looks like it has little chance for improvement.

I bet if you worked in Facilities Maintenance you wouldn’t be singing the same tune.

Then again maybe YOU would.

Hes still paying some dues.Should have some say

GVPSPAM You called me out for not giving full answers. Now you are doing the same. Can say for sure that the IAMNPF will not affect the TWU membership even if they are not members of the IAM and IAMNPF?

He is a NON-MEMBER, he voluntarily gave up any rights to participate in anything.

So no he has NO rights Period.
Could you quote the part of the PGBC that states that removing ones self from the political aspects of the the IAM disqualifies his pension benefits?

Did you just really ask that?

You just answered it, if you are not a member it won’t affect you.

The IAM has even stated at the Negotiation Update Roadshows, that if the company offered a 401k match and contribution that was greater than what they put in the IAMNPF, that they were willing to accept it and let the members decide.

Now does your $2 billion underfunded effect the IAM Members? How about the total underfunding of AA’s pensions to a sum of $7.1 billion effect IAM Members?

Excuse me? I wasn’t asked anything to give an answer too.

Time for EVERYONE to work safe.

He has no rights as a union member.

He is a plan participant.

Apparently you don’t understand what I’ve written and misconstrued it.

He isn’t a dues objector, objecting to items not germane to the contract, he resigned his IAM membership and is an Agency Fee Payer.

This has nothing to do with the IAMNPF.

Go read Beck vs the CWA and Machinists vs Whirlpool.

You are comparing apples to oranges once again.

A dues objector and non-members cannot attend any union meeting or function, they can’t vote in any officer, shop steward or any election or referendum vote, nor can he even vote on any contract, and that’s been upheld by the Supreme Court.

I think you all deserve to see the full proposal and to vote. If it’s a sh*t offer, that should make for a resounding “no.”

I think you have all been boxed into a corner both from allowing the Association to happen, then further by giving up cross-utilization (or whatever it’s called over there). Parker’s well versed at playing divided groups off one another, and this is no different. He may talk up “one team,” but I’m sure they are just fine with dragging this out.

Time for EVERYONE to work safe.

When is it NOT time for that?
