American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

We are. You keep posting the negotiating update to fit your narrative but the mediators rely on industry patterns. Although you and Mr Baskett and Cltrat have consistently said that what happens at United, UPS, Southwest, etc doesn't affect us, most intelligent labor people understand that what happens at UPS affects Southwest, especially since an arbitrator ruled. And that affects the TWU MX.

I try telling you but you don't listen.
Proof?

My red mark stalker is back.

Tim per the 5500 filed with the DOL in 2017 the IAM contributed $10.8 million to the Grand Lodge pension, and it appears the average annual benefit is approximately $33k. For every year of eligible service a participant gets 2% of their ending annual salary for life (or beyond for a surviving spouse).

Do you know what counts as eligible service time? Does local Lodge time count if one later gets appointed to a cushy GL or AGC gig at the district level? Seems like a pretty cushy gig. Meanwhile the members are left with the pathetic IAMNPF managed by some of the same people who enjoy this far superior, better funded and better managed plan.

Do IAM officials engage in pension spiking (working a sprint of excessive overtime in their final years to juice their future benefits) like most public sector workers do?

Local officers arent necessarily in it for airline districts. Other Locals have BR who are in it. I was in it like all fulltime district peeps.

The “Crew Chiefs” Duties Article is pretty much finished.

The few lazy CC’s we still have out there need to get off their asses anyway but they’re not going to have to worry about dropping dead of Heart Attacks when they read the language.

ok, looked like the dfw president said it was back on the table.

this will come to the relief of dozens of C/Cs..and also relief for iam leads.

for starters, the company video.
You said the company wants to get rid of all our jobs. Kindly cite or reference a document or stfu.
To be fair, you might be confusing the latest update wezz posted as him saying that. He didn't say that recently but it was sted in the update.

Interesting so well capitalized non-transportation locals who send more money to the GL get to include their staff?

Also does someone like Klemm or a GLR who was active at a carrier in the IAMNPF get IAMNPF credit while serving the GL? Traditional company pensions appointed union officials get to double dip and earn both a company (or public sector) pension plus union perks.

Put it to you this way. No member of Management ever should have been able to take over from a CC (Or Lead) and direct the workforce. Also a CC should “assist” his or her crew but not be considered a replacement for a crew member.

The language did/does need to be clearer on what the duties of a CC are though in assisting.
