oh, another thing, the tail running envoy bags should be coming back to us. Remember, the twu shifted this bag running to its envoy partners.
i absolutely am part of negotiations and so are you. You just dont sit in a room with Uncle Jerry. It’s Sybil not Sybol. And no you are not a part of any of the Negotiations.
What did you think was going to happen when we had two separate contracts ( and at times, VERY different language)? Both the TWU and IAM has to take the time to learn and understand each other’s language so as to decide what path to take in negotiations. If you thought there wasn’t going to be changes to both current books then I’m thinking that maybe you didn’t give this much thought. So I guess you think we should all just have automatically gotten, the worse OT language , the worse holiday package and the worse sick days too... I for one am glad we didn’t. But hey we all have our own opinions.
If you can’t see where it would be a major sticking point of rotating shifts when the TWU has it and the IAM doesn’t then I’d say that you are just misinformed about the entire process.
But you do realize that YOUR LARGER TWU is the group that had it right??? So by your rationalization you should be ecstatic about it.
Not looking to fight here but every time someone mentions the “smaller” IAM or groups I wonder if they just wanted the opportunity to completely squash anything they may have liked?
Should any of their wants have just been completely ignored?
When I worked @jfk we rotated every 2 weeks. At the time I didn't know any better. But now looking back at it, I feel it is a horrible way of doing shifts. Thankfully it's only practiced in NYC

i believe that ua and that's iam, still use rotating days off in ord.
i would be interested in 4 day/10hr FT shifts.
Right now in Tulsa at Aircraft Overhaul has 5/8's 3 shifts. They also have 4/10's 2 shifts.I did 4/10hr in PHX maybe 18 years ago. Loved it. Wish we could get it again. I believe AC Mntc TWU still has it in some places
My problem is that it's local should different cities have different work rules?Do you know I heard it actually costs the company more to rotate.I want a system wide vote where it would surely failEvery thing else is a system wide voteWhat did you think was going to happen when we had two separate contracts ( and at times, VERY different language)? No, no wayAl, you are iam. You arent on rotating shifts are you?
What is happening now was discussed at length on these forums and on the floor when we were expecting to vote For/Against this miserable excuse for representation!
And I assure you much thought was given by me on this before the rug was pulled out from under us.
It's just a simple fact that the IAM is counting its lucky stars that they are even at the table. A table set by two International Presidents, and still sticking by my belief that anyone who thinks this was the right direction is flat crazy.
All should be taken as hearsay because the info i got was certainly contradictory to what the union is fanning. Im just commenting thirdhand

About 2 weeks. He's also not part of any Unions eitheraut that's just a silly footnote
Has it been 2 weeks yet? Approximately 2 weeks? Roundabout 2 weeks?
I've been holding my breath for so long waiting I'm becoming 2 weak(s)
the bankrutcy judge might have been a stickler if the twu members didnt approve it but i dont remember any judge abrogating your contract? Certainly, the judge wasnt nvolved in ours which our bosses agreed to and we voted upon.So I have to assume you’re getting your information from AA Management or F&H sources then? Would that be correct?
Curious? Your sources played you in 2014 so why would you assume they aren’t playing you now?
The TWU didn’t “shift” any work Tim. Unfortunately just like the experience you went through it was a Bankruptcy Judges gavel that shifted that work.
BTW I generate far more in dues for my Union than a dramatically lowered paid Envoy or Swissport guy does.
You do know how that stuff works right?
I understand the issues/concerns with it.My problem is that it's local should different cities have different work rules?Do you know I heard it actually costs the company more to rotate.I want a system wide vote where it would surely failEvery thing else is a system wide vote
