Tim you should come out with your video after we vote on an agreement.Appeal to those IAM members who's medical is going up drastically. Ill probably do it because at 59 this might be my last contract so what am I gonna pay dues if I'm not going to vote on anything.

Al would be great to get more objectors. Sure it’s largely symbolic but it also imposes an administrative expense on the GL and DL 141.

Many multi billion dollar corporations answer to their boards of directors and shareholders NOT their employees.
Can they afford the cheaper medical for all....YES!!!!
Will they? NO!

When you say “ALL” I hope you’re only talking about the 30,000 Association Members and not the rest of the Company which I’m not and our Negotiators are not concerned about?

And if you say NO on the Medical maybe we say NO on their Scope ask too?

Like EVERYTHING else in our Contracts Medical is just another cost item. And from the Jetnet offer there are plenty of examples where they moved on cost.

Metal go back to the BK before the merger. Did you have any clue you would be at $105,000 BASE today? Did you ever think you’d be staring at $122,000 BASE?

BTW AGAIN I don’t think we’ll go all the way down to what they pay now but I also don’t think they will come all the way up to us either? (We’ll see)

I would like to see what the company pays per employee medical and what dollar value scope costs them

Scope is headcount. Scope is Labor costs.

I don’t have that information but I’m sure they don’t pay as much for my Medical as they do for my wages and 401k. Though they do gain my work for those wages.

I earned 65,000 last year and the Company made a payment in my name for my operation of $29,000. A few more Doctor visits that year and some Prescriptions (Maybe another $5,000?)

They may not be in a rush to settle our contract. Nothing is stopping them right now from cutting jobs for, instance. Nothing is preventing more outsourcing because our percentage is on the spend not manhours. As far as my base, considering what I started earning, it is not unfeasible to believe I am at this salary now.
BTW, if they give us the cheaper medical, the pilots, f/a's, agents and everyone else will want the cheaper medical. That has to be on their minds.

The comment more implies where things seemed to be headed when AMR announced Bankruptcy not anything about your career or it’s expectations. That’s why I put out those BLS reports and things like that.

Of course everyone else is going to want a break on Medical and of course that would be on Managements mind as a bargaining weapon against them. But WHY do we keep ignoring the fact it’s been that way for years with Parker and Co? (The IAM Medical lower cost advantage)

BTW I’ve never claimed a fact it’s going to happen but that it can happen and we should support it and not fight against it (Which I find VERY weird personally)

Like I said, I would like to see what they pay per employee.

Every one of us would have a different cost. The only thing they would have is what was their average cost for the prior year.

A new hire kid could pay for Medical and not use it for years so the Company would be gaining a savings there. (But still why they call it insure-ance)

If you use the 39 million a year ( company figure) and divide it by 30 thousand ( # of association members) Does that give you what the cost would be per Emp in the LUS medical?
If it’s that simple ...the cost is approx $1,300.00 per year. Per employee.

P. Rez is the resident Guru of this Math stuff but I think that’s fine if you’re just doing the average which it doesn’t really work out to.

You got 3 plans and 3 different options within those 3 plans. The greatest savings would go to that Family Plan guy eventually siphoning down to the Singles.

But let’s see if the Company has 120,000 (Which they do plan to thin some of those numbers anyway) then to pass that savings on to all Employees would come out to 156 Million per year.

Hey if they want they can have my Profit Sharing back?

The company doesn't want to be innovative. In fact I dont ever think the US side be innovative positively for the employees not once. They want to go with the rest if the industry and the rest of corporate America for that matter

As far as Fleet goes the company makes more than enough money on bag fees to pay for their medical and lots of other stuff. Is the association bringing this up in Fleet negotiations? I would hope so.

You know it doesn't work like that and it shouldnt. As far as company revenue we all contribute. What good would the bag fees be if you didn't maintain the airplanes?I should change that to most of us contribute there are a few in every group that dont (And the union protects them) I put that in for the Weez

Exactly Al. It’s all revenue and all should benefit from that revenue.

And those bag fees are already counted in the revenue that all the airlines generate.
