American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

That could still be negotiated but from the time it was agreed to on August 4, 2016 until it is changed again, it is a concession.

Having a cap with a higher percentage than what where we currently stand is a concession.

40% is higher than where we currently stand.
Where you currently stand is not at the maximum pt%. So we are talking about concessions as it pertains to agreed upon language. Where you stand Now is moot, contractually that number can increase today, tomorrow etc.
Having a cap higher than what your language currently states would be a concession. But your language doesn’t give a cap %

Currently, for a PTer to get any extra hours after their regular shift via an extension or overtime all FTers willing to stay need to be proffered those hours first. Having a PT able to get extended or OT before a FTer is a concession.

Aside from that, it also makes it easier for the Company to have and maintain a larger PT population.
Again....it’s just different. Not concessionary. If you ask Pt LAA they will most likely say it is improved for them. If you ask FT LUS they will say it is improved.
That’s why I say, it’s not concessionary ....just different than what some are used to.

And please read where I used 40% as an EXAMPLE ONLY. There is also the manner in which it is calculated that will dictate the number of pt vs ft. I’ve explained this before....40% of the total number of fleet is much higher than 40% of full time. Not sure where we will end up on this though.

That's pretty cute.

However, it is concessionary.

Racer.....I applaud your efforts but some folks can't see the forest for the trees!

Josh I agree wholeheartedly that Tim should shut it all down now and try to figure out how to make amends with all those he wronged like Sito and LeHive and try and get back to CLT and rent a bigger apartment. Of course he’ll be happier, absolutely.

I thought Tim has posted repeatedly that if the Association could get CLE into scope that would be his preference.

IMO being a realist it’s unlikely CLE will get (re)staffed.

That said why are so many LAA FSCs in DFW and MIA wanting to go to CLT? Seems like a silly move as NC has state income tax.

Josh

Thanks. Some can’t...some can

One interesting observation I can take away from this back and forth particularly on the OT since that’s an already completed Article. It confirms why the Negotiating Committee doesn’t release all the details of TA’d items. There will be many NYer’s out there who will see the change as a negative despite the Double Time additions.

Now magnify that out to anyone’s particular pet Article that they were focused on and those who have a hard time with change. NYer for instance doesn’t seem to be much of a fan of change.

Personally why for me since this first started I’ve kept an open mind for the future Contract. I’ve always figured I would have to read it from front to back and conditioned myself that it would all be very new.

Very new indeed! A combination of two different existing contracts, both with Fleet and MTC. A challenging task lies ahead for our NCs to get us there. If we get there at all in this process. If not... it's on to Section 6.

That is a reason I’m sure.

With open minds it absolutely could be re-staffed. Fairly simple actually but I’m not going to cover that ground again.

Because CLT and particularly NC is quite beautiful. And it’s not very expensive despite any State Tax.
