American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

LOL W, I guess we have a misunderstanding. I said "not a chance in hell' which means either "To be completely impossible" or "incredibly unlikely". I'm going with the latter and is pretty much the same as "the likelihood is slim". Tomato or Tomatoe? :)

BTW AANOTOK the CWA PSA Contract has a ton of disparities written into it. Starting with the “Customer Assistant Representative” positions that top out at the end of their contract to less than $20.00 per hour to Class B cities where you can read that language for yourself.

If we had to draw some type of classification of a Class B to get us back into cities that we no longer staff or have never staffed I have zero problem agreeing to that language. At the very least we should also inhabit any Station that has CWA staffed in it.

Stands to reason most would bump into MIA if it closes.

With LUS they would go where there are openings when that runs out they go where the junior person is and he would be played off.40, 50 guys would be absorbed rather easily

Contract negotiations, especially trying to reach a JCBA, reminds me of a lyric from an old Rolling Stones song. "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you might find, you get what you NEED." The question is what do we need as a collective group. The challenge is to reach a collective consensus. Challenging task for any NC or labor organization.

We need not to take concessions

I would think the company would use all 3 in negotiating if not they aren't using all their leverage and that would be stupid

Do you really believe there would be any leverage there whatsoever? You think the TWU Executive Committee is going to be frightened in to accepting a bad deal for 18,000 Members for 345 Rampers that still would have bumping options? (Didn’t do the numbers for Maintenance and Related)

345 people Al. (I finally decided to look it up)

160 in STL
111 in SJU
74 in SAT

Oh and even though it’s not going to happen anyway here’s where most would try to go just for the goof of the conversation.

Most of the STL people would probably retire and the rest would scatter all over.

SJU the top guys would retire and the majority who bump would try to get into MIA and some to DFW.

SAT the top guys would retire and the rest would go to DFW. (They’ve hired a lot since the BK so lots of junior members there now)

That was the missed opportunity that didn't take place between October 2014 and May 2015.

The work to get together and understand each other's culture, contracts, priorities and expectarions didn't happen.

Yes Weez they will all retire and worry about their healthcare another day.How come in your mind you can't grasp that the company has used closing stations in negotiations in the past

Will they be able to absorb the catering and small station folks? So LAA has three stations that are small and potentially get whacked in the JCBA. LUS IAM on the other hand has many more points but they’re much smaller with fewer people. LUS has places like BDL, MCI, ONT, PVD, SLC. Hopefully the scope can be somewhere between LAA TWU and the pre-2014 LUS level (the current single flight is just placeholder)
