American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I posted it in a Facebook Group page.

Honestly why bother on here? So Al and Nelson can just criticize it or say the guy is lying or we’re all being duped. Or the Ass sucks or let’s start a Card Drive or FSC’s should stay in their lane and stop riding Maintenance coattails or etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah?

Nothing much to say on it anyway. Garcia and Pantoja will be meeting with Glass and Johnson next week. Maybe there will be some movement, maybe there won’t be?

Either way no matter what the outcome, I foresee major frustration between IAM and TWU workers. I think the TWU will be upset if we don't get a vote and the primary reason is thought to be the IAM not moving on medical. If the Association does move on Medical I see IAM workers being upset. The association was a bad idea. I am not suggesting anything can be done about it or suggesting a card drive. I am suggesting that long-lasting frustration is probably going to occur and the association was a bad idea. Having only one union would not have prevented all of this, but maybe things would have started to calm down or heal sooner. Going to section 6 will only make the wounds fester for years.

I am also not blaming IAM for wanting to keep the Medical. I just do not see a good resolution to this.

Who is "we" in Marks updates?
Many people think it is you and others.
Is Mark speaking for all? If not, he needs to stop saying we.

And he has been inaccurate but not based on what he was told. He just dont know it.

I appreciate you and others being accountable and not speaking for Alex and Sito.

Mark spoke for sito before, and after it was proven false, Sito claimed he never said it.

Don't know who they're referring to but it isn't the TWU NC. The only information we received was about meetings being held but nothing mentioned about Section 6 or the possible options to be determined based on these meetings. That's new information.

If that is in fact what the expectation is, then it should have been shared with everyone in an official update. That lack of information is post of the frustration many members have towards this process.

I see the Executive Committee reaching an AIP next week with the Company and then they’ll schedule a meeting for the full Negotiating Committee to look it over a week later in DC and have them vote whether to release it to us or not?

After that it will still be a few months putting the full TA’s into language, sending it out for us to look over, conducting roadshows and then of course our vote and implementation date.

You see that happening even if maintenance doesn't have an AIP?

Wow this is a little more detailed then what you said a couple of years ago when you said we'll have a TA in a few months.

Brothers and Sisters,

The Executive Negotiating Committee met with American Airlines on June 25, 26, & 27 in Washington, DC. “””””””The vast majority of these negotiating sessions were spent discussing Scope in a very detailed manner, mainly for the Maintenance and Related group.”””””””” While Fleet Service Scope was discussed, it was done on a much broader level since the Company was unprepared and not fully represented.”

That’s part one.

Part two would be Steven Johnson once more being a part of the sessions. Remember the first time he came in was supposedly to present the Company’s position from what AA said in their videos.

Good possibility it’s going to be the same thing once more. This guy doesn’t go to these meetings personally. He delegates.

Anyway we’ll see? And if others can say years, why can’t I say next week?

The Weez hasn't answered your question.

Am I allowed to go eat Al? Sheesh.

W, you seriously think the Executive Committee after a year of negotiations is going to send a AIP back to the NC to look over and get their unanimous approval to send out for a vote. Or is the more likely scenario the EC will let the NC look it over and then instruct the NC to send it
out to (Fleet) for a vote. It looks as those Tim's Fly may have been paying closer attention if this indeed becomes the scenario. My opinion is I have absolutely no clue are feeling one way or another anymore.

I won’t and can’t speak for the IAM and what they would or wouldn’t do if “instructed”? I hope none of them are instructed rather than reasoned with though.

I will say that IMO Tim Hughes, Sidney Jimenez, Juan Elvira and even William Fa (I don’t know the other Presidents) would tell Alex to take a flying leap if he tried to “instruct” them to vote yes.

Now I know he will explain the rationale of why they came to a deal and make his own personal recommendation on it I’m sure. Remember Alex was a two times voted in AA MIA Fleet President so it’s not like he doesn’t know his chit real good.
