American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

These are some very perilous times for American Airlines-- by evidence of proposals to reducing staff, increasing health insurance premiums, contracting-out of stations, instituting B scale, eliminating catering, closing some stations cargo, etc. Oh wait, projected annual profits in excess of $4 billion this year? We shouldn't be giving up much of anything.
You are correct, there is NO reason anyone should give anything up. The company should agree to administer the LUS medical to all of the combined fleet members. Same with the IAM pension, this should be no problem, AND the inclusion of a 401k with profits like this. Especially when those profits would have never been achievable without the sacrifices, and hard work of the very fleet members that are at the table. The employees made this mega-merger possible, and we suffered greatly in the bankruptcy games. Time for fair compensation!

You do recognize that since you were added to the team that you ARE now the Association yourself.

And I agree wholeheartedly that if the Company does present a last offer prior to Section 6 that all of the TWU President’s and IAM AGC’s should be given a vote to release or not release those offers out to the General Membership.

(And all need to accept the outcome of that vote as well)
NO Weez too much shady chit going on I simply don't trust them.I want to see the offer and determine myself besides how do you know the AGCs etc wont be deadlocked

I’m 100% positive that the AGC’s will be unanimous in their vote either yes or no. Not because they’re sheep but because they know how to be unified and the TWU teams are more individuals. So because of that it WILL be the IAM who decides what the next move will be when the time comes.

New TWU Fleet Negotiators are already lobbying each other to take positions. The loudest voice being someone who seems rather frustrated.

Unlike the IAM vote when the time comes, the TWU vote will likely be fractured.

Fractured could be good. You voted someone into that position you want him to take a stand.TWU eventually will give into healthcare where IAM will stand pat.If that's the only issue holding this up its not fair to the majority and should go to a vote

Oh and Weez if given the opportunity I will vote for any IAM who goes against Sito and the pack. That would be a person of integrity in my opinion

Glad I could bring you some joy for a change. We shall see, unions really should be for the majority .Not we know whats good for you besides if they do take that attitude and dont go for what the majority want they will be out on their azzzes.maintenance is building great momentum to a card drive and there are people from fleet already discussing it.Stay tuned

Tim seems to indicate that’s been the case for a while now. What says you?
It is really like a stalemate. I don't see the company moving on issues nor the unions. The company saves money with things as they are, so you could almost say things worked out well for them as they planned. The obstacles were just too severe to get past. Mergers are quite complex as I'm sure all here know, so just have to accept the difficulties.

These Card drives are always fun to witness I have to admit.

Think it's different this time, the association doesnt deserve our dues we might be in this stalemate for 7 or 8 years who knows.I don't understand why one TWU Mech would not sign a card what do they have to lose

Consistently wrong for this entire process, especially eye-opening considering the supposed direct access to decision makers.
lol. Well......of course. But imo he does have a place. He is entertaining for sure, and from an IAM perspective, at least he is on my side even though we won't claim him. In a strange way, I think he has helped me stall this thing as much as the DOL. Teamwork! Of course if I were a TWU person, I'd probably file charges on him.

Tim is Sito aware of this go fund me and card drive. Will he bring a TA sooner than later because of it and will it be compromised
Yes he is. I don't have a clue about MX negotiations other than that group is 'shelved' and will NOT be voting on a TA or 'offer' with fleet at the same time. My info is from Fly who doesn't give me anything on MX. Fly is expecting a Fleet Service vote prior to section 6 as he claims Sito and Alex were given the risk outcomes if they delayed. Of course, this is all 3rd hand but thus far Fly has been right 100%.

My point was those jobs were given to fleet without much of a fight because the union was getting the dues anyway
When I was President of the Allied Ground Workers, our law firm was the same as AMFA. And I can tell you first hand that AMFA considers pushbacks as MX work. There was a conflict of interest, and understandably so, so we had to move on from that particular Law Firm.

But the TWU, IAM, Teamsters......no. They could care less about MX work.
