American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I think we should understand that everyone is going on like this is a normal negotiating process as with one representative group.
Except it’s not we have two unions with differing ideas in how to proceed.
This alone makes this latest crap from theAss tell me they remain at odds and not inSync
I for one see no vote eminent and in fact see a very long delay into next year. You can dispute this all you wish but for sometime we have been hearing they are close they are bringing in the committees and yet we get nothing.
Nothing has changed since 4 weeks ago.
They are not close and we are not going to see anything until it’s forced upon this group just like this lame Ass was

This is exactly what happened to us, AA is playing the SWA play book to a "T". At our 4-5 year mark we were constantly told that we were close (not by our union, by the co. only) and still nothing for years. They even fired and replaced the entire co. side of the table except for one person, and even they could not get it done until they brought in Kurt Kinder with orders from GK to get er done, and he did it over a weekend, we had a T/A come that Mon morn.

NMB is always suggesting a vote. That's their primary goal.

I know that and your right. In our case AMFA didn't want to bring it out just yet, and the NMB did suggest to do as they said the co. won't budge on anything until there is a move. So rather than be put on ice a third time the AMFA made last minute changes in order to bring it out and the co just wanted a vote to get done so they would get their feeler gages they wanted from the membership. Well, they got it with a 96% no vote. I will say it did help...

My memory isn’t great but as I recall the only thing lost in the BK was pension and retirement medical, the 17% and all the other benefits were in the 2003 BK threat. The Bankruptcy wouldn’t take from employees already at the bottom of the industry!

All labor contracts took a 17% cut in the AMR BK.

BTW, I don't recall how much time we had to vote on the Association so is the time allowed to vote for the contract going to be the same?

Presidents. During the BK negotiations, Jim made one appearance.

Even if there was a list, the President's had full voting control. The smaller stations tended to be more radical. They were some of the same that said a BK was not even close, during the negotiations leading into 2011.

During the BK, some of them said to vote no on the last offer because the Court would never abrogate the CBA. Soon thereafter, the Court abrogated the APA CBA.

They took no money because inion dues are based on pay not benefits. They will not take a pay cut.
