American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

There are separate certifications. If one passes and the other doesn't, then there is a ratified JCBA and an open JCBA.
So if fleet has a T/A and M&E doesn't why can't fleet vote and M&E still negotiate? So basically with that in mind if fleet passes and M&E doesn't we all have to go back and reach a better agreement. Ain't this association grand?

I think you may have read NYer's post wrong? To me it read that if one passed/one didn't, the group that ratified is done and the group that did not goes back to the table.

Unfortunately this is how it’s always been fleet always has to wait on maint to agree to a TA.
It should not be this way but it’s how our lame leaders dictate to us it will be.
If some rumors are true fleet has been all but done for sometime but we are being held up because of maint issues
Not saying there legit issues but why should be keep loosing money because of them.
It sucks having the same people representing both groups it’s very counterproductive in my opinion

Separate negotiations, separate negotiators, separate agreements is a three way mirror that all looks the same at the end of negotiations.

The rhetoric has turned out to be false, "When and where directed," "core work," and on the Fleet side the talk of "attrition" had also be proven to be false. Aside from that their comments in this Forum were used by the airline in their case to prove a job action.

They'll be back to sell the things they want to highlight for the JCBA to pass.
And we have weAAsles to thank! I knew if he was given enough rope that he would inadvertedly cuff Samuelson.
In fact, i think weAAsles was listed the most in the company submission.
Nothing against weAAsles cuz im coming to mia and i sorta like the kook but that picture with him and samuelson stapled this whole thing on Samuelsons butt and will force the end game.

I do have to agree with you up until last froday. Being so close to the holidays, sito might want a little time off...
Sito is bi polar. Actually, the vote next week was only temporarily agreed to by Sito and let us hope he doesnt get cranky next week.
I actually dont mind sito but he is whacko like me.

The powers that be have decided they want everyone to vote at the same time, they believe it enhances some kind of leverage.

During the BK Fleet passed their agreement, while Maintenance didn't. They were separate and there was no waiting.

The bottom line is they are blowing smoke up everyone's azz. This statement is the same as when they said we were going to get a vote. They are negotiating a little for fleet and then a little for stores and a little for maintenance and then magically we will all finish at the same time. Its the same old crap that the industrial unions do to the membership.

There is not going to be a vote. Someone is feeding you a bunch of crap.

maint didn’t (2003) and that’s why maint has 1/2 day sick pay the only Twu represented work group to have that provision, sort of a punishment that’s lasted for 16 years. Of course that’s motivated every mechanic to call in sick for 2 days instead of just one.

side note, the IAM guys in their current contract get 1/2 sick pay for their mechanics.

wow two sh@t unions negotiating for us.

Only if they have less than 75 days in their bank and if they are hospitalized overnight it’s full pay. And the 50% is only for the first day.
