American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

So, are we having a vote? Or are you guys all just 20 steps ahead... Ahh, what a bunch of smart fellas.
Yes a vote is coming soon. We will vote on a contract. There will be three separate votes representing each group. Each group will decide it's own outcome if they want the contract or not by voting. That's guaranteed by the union in writing.
Same exact voting procedures like we had when we voted for the Association.
See question number 5.
It's in simple black and white clear as day American English literature.
Is that simple enough?

I think we should understand that everyone is going on like this is a normal negotiating process as with one representative group.
Except it’s not we have two unions with differing ideas in how to proceed.
This alone makes this latest crap from theAss tell me they remain at odds and not inSync
I for one see no vote eminent and in fact see a very long delay into next year. You can dispute this all you wish but for sometime we have been hearing they are close they are bringing in the committees and yet we get nothing.
Nothing has changed since 4 weeks ago.
They are not close and we are not going to see anything until it’s forced upon this group just like this lame Ass was

You don’t know anything you are a mechanic at WN with delusions.
You don’t work at AA nor are you involved either the TWU nor the IAM, nor in negotiations. You have issues if you believe what you are posting. Your a nobody in the AA and Association negotiations or anything at AA. Your a wannabe AMFA Pom Pom cheerleader.
First half of your post is exactly correct. I even admitted I did not work or part of this abortion asso. and that is exactly why it is so sad. This asso. keeps the membership in the dark on a regular basis.

I was one of the first claiming all that to be false and misrepresented.
Ok. Whatever you say.

I do have to agree with you up until last froday. Being so close to the holidays, sito might want a little time off...
And I believe others at the table (both sides) will also want and need some time off for the holidays which was part of the reasoning behind me saying it will go into 2020. And don't forget about the NMB around the holidays too, they will want time off as well.

Last week the update said that they made progress in scope for all departments with the exception of facility maintenance. Does this weeks update mean they are still fighting over facilities or is it completely something else.
No one knows with all the secrecy. But it does appear they did go a bit backwards from the last nego's sessions. At this point it's all guesses as they continue to leave the membership in the dark.

I think you may have read NYer's post wrong? To me it read that if one passed/one didn't, the group that ratified is done and the group that did not goes back to the table.
With the scope ask by the co. I foresee at least one or two groups voting down where other groups vote it in. I would also assume that this is new territory for the asoo. since this is their first contract after the merger with all groups. I would think just the group that voted down would get focused on as the other groups are done. The real question on that very same question by informer is; Let's say that scenario did happen, Example only here: 2 of 4 groups voted no, Mechs and stores vote it in, the others vote it down. Now, do the 2 groups that voted it in get to reap the rewards right away OR do they have to now wait until all groups are done and have a new contract??? This could be flipped the other way too. I am thinking, yes, they do have a new contract but the asso. will not allow it to be effective until all groups are done. The reason I am guessing this is because what the asso. said about nego's that no T/A will get blessed until all groups are done, so that tells me they will hold up all groups until all groups are done. Hopefully I am wrong here but I do not think so.

maint didn’t (2003) and that’s why maint has 1/2 day sick pay the only Twu represented work group to have that provision, sort of a punishment that’s lasted for 16 years. Of course that’s motivated every mechanic to call in sick for 2 days instead of just one.

side note, the IAM guys in their current contract get 1/2 sick pay for their mechanics.

wow two sh@t unions negotiating for us.

That 1/2 suck pay was a choice in the BK for Fleet. The decision was not to cut that and get the necessary cut elsewhere to reach the 17%.

Maintenance had the same choice and decided to keep it that way. That's part of the reason the TWU wanted to keep all groups negotiating at the same time, do they could have the same flow through.

I get the impression that you recommend "lowering our expectations" bobby.

You can carry any expectation you'd like.

It seems there is a different expectation for each person, some are too high, some are too low and some are just right. When everyone votes is when we see how many of each there were.

I don't think so. Bad time for a vote to bring it out now, too many open items left. But i could see the asso. trying to bring out the last offer just to have a vote finally. Kinda like how AMFA had to with us. The co. froze solid on everything and said, "we are not moving or paying another dime unless there is a vote on the current offer." Since the co. was so adamant and blunt with the NMB, they did suggest a vote at this time. AMFA quickly added some final things as they too said; "we will, but only if these things are changed for the vote." That first vote was 96% voted down, and that's when we started to see the real movement by the co. directly tied to the united no vote. I would understand the asso. wanting a vote as well as the co. but I think there are too many open items that are not T/A'ed. But who knows, the NMB might suggest a vote.
We will see come Tuesday.

NMB is always suggesting a vote. That's their primary goal.

My memory isn’t great but as I recall the only thing lost in the BK was pension and retirement medical, the 17% and all the other benefits were in the 2003 BK threat. The Bankruptcy wouldn’t take from employees already at the bottom of the industry!
