American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Man you do live in a fantasy land don’t you.
We are on ice and won’t see anything this year.
It will be well into next year if we see anything
and the company just sits back and laughs at the total dysfunction of this group.
And we complain about how poorly run AA is they ain’t got nothing on this sorry excuse for a union

They've been meeting with more frequency now then at any point during this entire process. Therefore the point of being on ice is off base.

I suspect the company has agreed to retro but the IAM says no unless they include the insurance or the IAMPF.
The IAM is the one holding this up trust me but you won’t hear that from them

The IAM, the TWU or the Association are not in a position to hold anything up. Hopefully they're trying to lessen the blow in exchange for now finances, but demands? That ship sailed when the airline filed their suit on the job action.

This is getting ridiculous.
On October 11, 2019, in the United States District Court for the District of Maine, Jeffrey Phillips, former Financial Secretary-Treasurer of International Association of Machinists Local 836 (located at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine), was indicted on one count of theft from a special maritime or territorial jurisdiction in excess of $1,000, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 661. The indictment follows an investigation by the OLMS Boston-Buffalo District Office.
I warned you of this a long time ago. More to come, and yes it is getting ridiculous and beyond.

Considering their next moves in light of the co. not moving. Gee, what will that be? Caving to the companies wishes? As usual?? You see this asso thought they would move right thru these last 4 biggie items with ease or at least within 5 weeks. NOT gonna happen...

And funny thing is, they have all vacated the premises. (Well, jury is still out on 700). One other thing I find a bit interesting, although W loved them all and believed every word, they were all IAM reps pumping till no end...now, silence. As Fleet, they tried burning in our collective heads that AA wanted us doing nothing but loading and unloading airplanes, PERIOD! Now, SILENCE!

The rhetoric has turned out to be false, "When and where directed," "core work," and on the Fleet side the talk of "attrition" had also be proven to be false. Aside from that their comments in this Forum were used by the airline in their case to prove a job action.

They'll be back to sell the things they want to highlight for the JCBA to pass.

Next Steps

Local Presidents vote to bring last company offer to a membership vote

Or

We go on ice until April and lose another $15,000.00 and the disgruntled AMT's cause massive contempt fines during the Holiday Travel Season

International Union - Lose at the hands of the company, or Lose at the hand of your membership.
Pick Your poison

I predict "on ice" is coming until next year. I say ice, but with the holidays approaching and folks on vac I see it all leading into next year is all.

OK. So the update is taken as negative, but it may not be.

Huh?

Usually in negotiations after a period of progress there comes a moment of WTF, when one side proposes something new.

It's usually when must things are done and the side holding the winning hand tries to bluff another bet from the players at the table.

If that's the case, then we're closer than ever. Hopefully, they get back to the table next week and keep working towards the JCBA.

The hammer is still the contempt case and that will be a better determinant of progress.
Yea they are closer than ever! C'mon Man. They sure are pulling your puppet strings hard.
Here's a blip from last update and then a blip from the most recent update:

First 2 para's in Oct 25th posting;

Since the resumption of mediated negotiations between the Association and American Airlines on September 16, the parties have met multiple days over five weekly sessions. Although progress has been slow, it has been positive and productive. The talks have moved into more serious and in-depth discussions regarding Scope, Insurance and Retirement.

Since resolution to most of the remaining open items rely on reaching an agreement in total, no specific tentative agreements have been signed-off or agreed to. However, we can report on the subjects we have discussed.

Then the Nov 1st posting;

Negotiations continued in Washington, D.C. this week, with little movement from the company being made towards completed tentative agreements. In light of the unfortunate lack of progress, the Executive Committee is considering next steps and an appropriate response.

2 vastly different updates. Ever since they started talks on the 4 "biggie" items they have hit a brick wall with NO movement, NO T/A's on any items, NO progress and now they are considering their next steps and appropriate response. Gee wiss we just can't wait to hear what that will be now can we??? Pathetically ridiculous...

When you gonna learn? This was mentioned to you before by informer and myself and your just now claiming it was all false.

Also, Local Presidents will be voting this Tuesday to bring out the proposal for a vote.
There is no proposal currently. So I assume you are referring to the original proposal taking down that was on jetnet?
If this asso. does that it will just prove that they cannot nego an ILC as they promised. That last proposal was not IL by far. You guys are in for a reality check (especially fleet) when you guys see the entire scope picture...

Exactly. Correct. I do know more all the way up to the gag order. You didn't call out shite there skippy. I got more credibility than most on here and yes including some in this fiasco asso.
BTW dummy, I wasn't agreeing with timmy. You just don't know sarcastic when you read it. I never believe what he says. You are so easy...
You don’t know anything you are a mechanic at WN with delusions.
You don’t work at AA nor are you involved either the TWU nor the IAM, nor in negotiations. You have issues if you believe what you are posting. Your a nobody in the AA and Association negotiations or anything at AA. Your a wannabe AMFA Pom Pom cheerleader.

And funny thing is, they have all vacated the premises. (Well, jury is still out on 700). One other thing I find a bit interesting, although W loved them all and believed every word, they were all IAM reps pumping till no end...now, silence. Rich (700) is still here, and active on this thread. He’s also over on A.Net, but users there tend to see through his masquerade and call him out. He’s really fallen quite a ways.

I think Weez just wanted to be a part of something, and they used that to get him to carry their water. Now that he’s no longer of use, he’s been cast aside like yesterday’s trash. He burnt a lot of bridges, but I hope he lands on his feet.

And you’re right- they’ll all be back right on cue to sell you all on whatever offer comes back.

We're not gone. Just viewing the constant crying and idiocracy as a form of entertainment!
No one's opinion is going to swayed by anyone on this forum, especially the frequent postings of a pompous ass

When you gonna learn? This was mentioned to you before by informer and myself and your just now claiming it was all false.

I was one of the first claiming all that to be false and misrepresented.

You guys really forget things easily. The pending contempt hearing is what binds the two side towards a common goal.

Should really stop underestimating the legal hammer.
I dont underestimate the lawsuit. Quite frankly i dont think the association really cares as much as you think. But then the membership is purposely kept ill or miss informed. If it goes thru the holidays i have a feeling the contempt is going to be hard to miss.

They've been meeting with more frequency now then at any point during this entire process. Therefore the point of being on ice is off base.
I do have to agree with you up until last froday. Being so close to the holidays, sito might want a little time off...
