The way the association is goverened. Both a majority of the negotiating committee AND the chair AND vice chair must agree to bring it back. That gives the chair and vice chair full veto power. The negotiating committee is just a formality. The 6 on the iam side are appointed, if they know where their bread is buttered they vote as instructed. Finding one yes vote on the twu side is a given. Thats been my whole problem with the association jim little gave it away, with no way to get out. If and when we get a jcba the next time both parties are on ewual footing. Unless of course they come out with a fence for the iam and the medical without some kind of compensation per hour for the twu side. That would put the iam in command again at the next contract, and with out a doubt drive the wedge deeper between the membership.
Then you have the issue of pimping out the membership i.e. IAH
