American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

And I have this gut feeling that it might be that way in items, but it sure won't feel like it when things are finalized. Sito will come out a winner and Alex will brag about what we did gain. Peterson will claim it was the best the TWU could get...
I'll wait for the next Peterson video with Samuelson screaming behind the camera on YouTube.

Geeez, you guys never quit. The NMB requested a blackout on details. Both sides talking. A third week has been scheduled. When they don't talk your bitchin. When they do talk your bitchin. When the NMB tells all parties to hush up on details you all still bitchin. We all know the sticky points. That's what it's about at this point. When it's done it's done and one thing is for sure, some will benefit and some will not.

IAM put out the info an hour ago.
More delays no deal this week.
More progress being made
Ok it’s time to bring in the secret weapon.
Tim Nelson, calling Tim Nelson
Oh and yeah more dates for next week set
The reality is that I could close this out in about 10 minutes. I'm not even joking. Whether someone believes that or not, or whether that is prudent or not is open to opinion. But those sorta questions are BEST answered with a vote. I've been out of the loop since September 18th r 19th, as my main source has not given me any update on fleet, so I"m just like you right now, I am scratching my head about what progress they may be talking about when my last update from X was that there was little movement on the remaining issues and that the union only wanted to lessen the Delta + 3% to subsidize a few more stations to open. Along with the union making it clear that the company demands about the lawsuit (permanent injunction through the duration of the next agreement) would prevent it from EVER signing an agreement. The company seems hellbent on getting a permanent injunction through the next contract but separating this entire issue from negotiations and subjecting it to mediation and timetables. It seemed to me, from my source, that the company had 0% interest to move off this item as it was explained that if the company went soft on this or stood down on this, that it would be the wrong message to send to the pilots or stews. Bottom line, is that the company, according to X, isn't necessarily concerned with any new MX slowdown, but wants to make sure a message is sent to the other groups and doesn't want to subject itself to any of this BS again.
To be sure, there does seem to be pressure on Parker to get a deal done, at least it seems to me, so the question becomes, will he stand down on some of his demands regarding the injunction? I wouldn't think so but maybe he does to get a deal???

But a few things I would do in ten minutes that will bring a vote.
1. Separate the court/injunction stuff from negotiations. And believe me, this in itself would rapidly bring a TA.
2. Agree to the jetnet proposal which means keeping the Delta + 3%; agreeing to a cap on the health care (this is doable but hasn't happened. The sorta movement that is fair on both sides); agreeing to the retirement. And waiving the demand for 19 more stations, but picking up IAH and RSW. I heard the union is down to 4 stations. Chances are that we won't get any more stations, but I think 2 is reasonable and plus I'm biased towards RSW.

I can understand that. What was the excuse before last month?

Thats why your "ten minute tim" keep your schedule open, you know just in case they get stuck and need a hand.

And FWIW: Other than the wants of both parties about the court case, I yield 100% to NYer on that because I just haven't kept up or try to keep up with that. Nor do I know what can and can't be done. All I know is that the union is in disagreement on how to proceed forth regarding the legalities. I happen to think that is the single greatest holdup right now.

Gotta just love this quote; "there MUST be give and take from both sides."
The question is, how much?
One really good thing is there are new higher exects at the table to get er done. It is obvious now that Parker put the word out to get it done. Always happens when new folks arrive that have the power to make decisions at the table.
I still do not expect a T/A by end of this week. Hopefully they can get close enough for you guys to keep going to finish instead of postponing until next year, we will all see at end of this weeks nego's. If we see them continue into the weekend there might be some hope like we did in ours. Stay for the weekend and have a T/A by Monday???

You couldn’t be more far off and wrong if you try.

There is no Jetnet proposal . Company wasn’t truthful in it and that’s why the NMB made them take it down.
