instead, we fly 787 ord-cun-ord. small airbuses that cube out, ord-lax.

didn't this america west mngt. team originally schedule planes that were uncertified to fly mainland usa to hawaii??

to delta and united, this is like trading your dan pastorini rookie card for dan marino rookie card to the dummy kid down the block.

Great article. Thx for sharing.

Next question is will there be a JCBA before Parker gets the boot?

Hate to say it, but, I don't think so. He might be the reason why you guys don't have an agreement as of yet. We all know the asso. is to blame on this side, but Parker is also to blame on the other side of the table. As you guys seen in our case, if the CEO wants it done he will chime in and put someone in place to get it done with instructions to get er done. Just as in our case when it was done over a weekend...

just finished bidding in ord for winter/deicing bid.

112 open spots on bid...no employees. the new deicing czar from lax has never seen snow.

laa guys wondering if this is the america west way?

Agreed don’t understand not upgrading the 767 for some of our smaller market Europe flights and also to run then to Hawaii from LAX. and PHX. Makes no sense
Those planes could fly another 5 or so years
If the 767 fleet is handled like the New AA handled the MD-80 retirement then there is zero chance to extend the flying of the 767. LAA brought some of their 727's back from mothballs 2 or 3 times because they kept their tooling & parts available until they put the final nail in the fleet. We had to lease back our old MD-80 engines from a crappy outfit out of Miami just to get through the summer. We were purchasing new parts from P&W because the new AA shut down the back shops that had been repairing them for years, in my twenty-plus years working on the JT8-217/219 engines the first time I ever installed new integral parts (fairings, ducts, etc) was last year.
Also, I read an article 9 months ago that said Amazon Air wants every AA 767 they can get, take it with a grain of salt but they are definitely in the market for new & used 767's.

Tim, One Mile at a Time is a travel blog that publishes flight and hotel reviews, new airline route development, new airline premium cabin products, frequent flyer promotions and most significantly hawks credit cards that the author, Ben Schlappig hopes people apply for through the links on his site so he earns referral commissions.

Ben is very familiar with customer facing elements of airlines and hotels and while he is a very nice person but he doesn’t know much about RLA, history of the IAM at US, AA TWU, AFL-CIO, NMB process, IAMNPF etc. Most of his perspective is based on scuttlebutts with FAs and agents he sees frequently.
