. They’re hiring herein Clt as well , on top of that they added 6 more gates they’ll be using with added flights starting next month.
Landing fees are low here, AA is in bed with the city in short they are making a killing at this hub
A killing because a large amount of flying is from Envoy and Eagle. Cheap labor at mainline fares.

They get a great deal on landing fees in dfw to. The airport charges $2.00 just to enter the airport, it goes up every 1/2 hour. You pay if you park or not. Helps to subsidize the landing fees.

It’s disgusting all the things they make millions on that don’t cost them jack like credit card and such, yet they want to crap the people that make it happen out in the heat the cold and the rain and try to short change all of us.
I don’t never criticize you LAA guys for feeling the way you do.
If I was in your shoes I’d feel the same way.
I don’t talk junk about mx because it’s not my place to ,I just hope you guys get the things you want and deserve, I’ve always felt your contract issues are far more complex then ours are on the fleet side.
Here’s to hoping we all get something we can live at some point

So as they begin negotiations with the two work groups they can not as easily outsource. What is to become of our two work groups?
Perhaps there will be huge changes in the way these other two work groups conduct their work. With the FA's, sure there will be cuts in the service, but they are mandated by the government as to how many per plane, correct? Sure there will be change, and we all know the two things (especially airline workers) hate, is change and the way things are. Perhaps all the hiring on fleet side is to prepare for the layoffs after the holidays. Train them, get them used to the job functions, and cut them to find other income. Perhaps the outsourcing, if we ever get a deal, will be staffed by the very people being laid off. The starting pay will in all likelihood not be touched, only the top out. These people have all ready invested their time in training and badge process.

Thank you. I dont hold anything against the rsnk and file, its the leadership that pisses me off. Iam and twu.

Here’s what I think neither group will get everything they want and if the Ass idea is to continue to stall these negotiations until they do well we know where that ends up.
Because arbitration will be worse than what we had on the table already.

One note that someone pointed out to me is the offer that was on Jetnet has been removed I’m not sure what that means but you can bet it means there are changes coming and hopefully for the good

Thats interesting.

How true. The association needs to go away.

That needs to happen. At this point I will say anyone other than this asso. And that is pretty bad as most know I how I feel about the teamsters. Hopeful you guys can do it, and try to stay with C&C unions.

Many things need to go away.
Parker
The Association
Samuelson

Did I leave any out?

Theses guys want to outsource as much as possible to cut costs.
They don't want to settle labor issues. They cut back amenities and onboard services like IFE, hot meals up front and the ability for our front line employees to deliver exceptional customer service. This management team wants to cut, cut and keep cutting to maximize profits. Its obviously not working if you look at our stock price, our customer complaints and employee relations. This management team is blaming everyone and everything for the poor performance we have bottomed out too. They don't realize or don't care that it starts with them first. The decisions they make trickle down the steps right to the customer who pays for the product.
But its obvious they don't listen or care because there must be another agenda other than running the worlds largest airline. Contracts need to be settled. Labor peace brings happy employees and great customer service. Pilots and Flight attendants are next. What are they planning on doing with them?

Pretty sure Parker is on his way out. The BOD is starting to get restless as well.
The asso., Isom and Samuelson should be out as long as you guys are able to fire them.
Something has to happen for the mechanics at AA. If you guys don't you have to deal with this abortion of a union (asso.) for all future nego's and contracts. Do you guys really want that???

Maybe that's their reason for outsourcing. Jack up the open slots and don't hire anyone. Then prove your point that you need to outsource since no one wants the job.

no, it's not like they jacked up slots. they shrunk some areas (FT shifts) to create needed winter FT deicing shifts.

they've hired in recent weeks. no way will they have enough new hires to cover all the holes by nov. 2.

all in all, really poor by the company. how could they allow this to occur?

that's good news for the pilots and F/As. an enhanced profit sharing formula will be given to them.

i believe we are out of any enhanced profit sharing until the contract following the one we get now.

a few years ago, a c/c i know asked parker at a c/c seminar about fuel hedging. he asked and parker brushed it off quickly, stating that he didn't want to be caught holding hedges.

if the company spent $5-$7 million a year on salary and bonuses for a handful of former oil analysts from investment banks and petroleum institutes to hedge 15%-20% of aa's fuel purchases, i believe this would be a winner, cash-wise.

oil is a commodity, it's aa's 2nd largest cost.

coca-cola is also at the mercy of commodities (sugar and other spices) and coca-cola spends untold amounts of money with it's own experts on hedging.

ask any expert on which company is run better, aa or coca-cola? we know the answer, each and every time.

it's insurance. aa is looking for any edge to one-up a delta or united...there you go. hedge a percentage and fix a portion of your expenses.

How do you know the BOD is getting restless??

I was wondering that my self. Not sure about the BOD but im getting restless...
I think we all are, and if we get another report at the end of this week progress being made I think we will all just have to throw up are hands and wonder what the hell are they doing.
This is now gone way beyond ridiculous
It’s time for a JCBA and we want it now not next year not December
So whoever on the inside is reading this get it done no matter what it takes
Robert and Doug are you listening
