Ok this poaching language I would be interested in reading a point/ counterpoint on?

And if they don’t let us vote I’ll be the first one signing cards to join this weird guy’s Union that he runs from his Studio Apartment.

Here is Petersons attempt at poaching jobs/work from DWH.

"At the DWH Base, the Company may designate and maintain a maximum of [50] DFW based line maintenance AMT's to work on the DWH ramp, and designate a hangar bay when necessary, to perform line maintenance work"

This is from the recent M&R scope information that was just disclosed but was written in August of 2018.

Weazz I am 16 years from retirement, God willing. I will be honest I just had my panties in a wad, and being IGM and not trusting my union. So when I finally quit focusing on me, and supported my union, and remembered being a Steward my eyes got open, to what was really at stake in our fight.

Damn man. 2 Winners in one day. You’re looking at a new record.

Oh I want to know what is going on. I want to understand what we are fighting for. However all my questions and requests are met with a shrug of the shoulders and a bunch of "I don`t know". When GP s most recent attempt at back dooring DWH was pretty much the last straw for me. My own local president says he had no idea that language was in there and I believe him. The association hiearchy booting our elected presidents out of the room. The unwillingness to put out transparent and timely information that the members have asked for and deserve, has torpedoed ANY chance for any unity. We can ask questions until the cows come home but the arrogance of the association leadership from Samuelson on down will just keep us in the dark. The membership just sits here and waits for the other shoe to drop. What else do we not know. What else has Samuelson and GP agreed to that we do not know about?
That’s why the association did not release there full proposals . You hit the head on the nail. The twu has always kept us in dark . The company proposals have a lot of loopholes and not the leading industry leading contract. But I’m glad they released it . Now it will be hard for the association to give up pay for future dues payers . Like they have in the past . The twu has never gave good updates. You hit the big question a lot of us want to know what have they agreed to give up of our pay and benefits for future union dues. They want even sign there lousy up dates

Note the quotation marks:

“Technically DWH is taking line work, the line sends OTS planes for you to work. You are considered base maintenance.

So DWH is taking line work away from the line. So what Gary or the company has proposed is adding 50 jobs to DFW line and taking a bay in the hangar to perform work that can’t be done outside. So all the line is doing is keeping their work that was farmed out.

For example in CLT there is a line hangar and a base hangar, line does drop in work and OTS. Base does overhaul. At one point in time bay 5 in CLT was a line bay before they built the line hangar.

So you are complaining about losing OT. What’s the difference if the company added 50 more jobs to DWH? You’d lose your OT in that scenario also”

Perhaps the DFW Line guys have a bone to pick that they feel you’re poaching their work?

Also from how I heard Gary say it, the Association wants to take a snapshot of how many people work in DWH today and as people leave the Company has to replace and at least continue to keep that floor.

Categorically disagree with pretty much every point here Weez, where ever you got it. DWH works what is on our ramp with our folks. When DFW management pawns off a RON/OTS is one thing. DFW assigning AMTs to DWH to do "line" work is another thing all together. It would impact everything at DWH. OT, shifts/days off, job assignments and aircraft movement. After all to hear some of 591s E-board tell it, a big part of this scope fight. Is to preserve those very things. I guess its good enough for the "line" but not the base guys huh?

I’m not looking to get deep into the fray here but I do like to try to see why something exists and to get the perspective from both sides. But I do have to fall back to the part on the snapshot of headcount today remaining status quo. Otherwise I can see where you’re coming from 100%. And I’m sure the 50 heads could decimate any OT.

And the quotes means I’m not writing it.

“Base Maintenance does C-Checks and overhauls, not RON planes nor OTS. That would be line work”

I hear ya. Tell whoever you got that last quote from that DWH does not do C-Checks nor overhaul, never has. Minor mod work, acceptance checks, some B checks for awhile. RON usually 2x a week and OTS stuff nightly.

Oops.

Right on all counts. Especially threatening hogs OT.
