Fleet should not have to wait on the maint contract.
We have totally different issues.
Should have never been part of the same union we should deal with us and let the mechs fight their own fight.
Fleet has been being screwed by this me to crap for years

We don’t have totally different issues. Check again.

And welcome to the new World of UNITY.....

I just listened to a little tiny snippet and heard one guy speak that none of us can do it on our own but they had to build a coalition like the one they have right now to gain Congressional help.

I trust GP even less after his latest stunt trying to poach work/jobs from DWH.

Ok I’m sorry you’re right. It’s not dead. It’s always a constant irritant by a small minority of people then. It was a larger group once but it’s much much smaller today.

We’ve covered the APFA before. Read their own History. TWU only transitionally Represented the FA’s when their first Union went defunct. It was only for a very short period of time that they were TWU and they didn’t want to be in a male dominated Union back in a time when Women’s Liberation was a huge movement. Very understandable.

On your last paragraph. I’m so sorry that you haven’t gotten any raises in 6 years. It must be terrible for you. I’ve gotten almost 50% in wages increases since they ripped apart my Contract in Bankruptcy. I don’t know why they haven’t been able to get you any wage increases? Oops.

Raises? Oh boy, we got one! Yay! What a huge win! I want guys who think like you, negotiating for me...said nobody...ever.

The TWU couldn't manage to get a contract done with all the different title groups they represented before the Association, now it's even more complicated. Who suffers for this strategic blunder? The dues payers do! Yet here you are everyday on this BB serving as the resident TWU apologist. Use your post above as an example, see how you attempt to diminish the TWU's loss of AA Flight Attendants, and chalk it up to womens liberation etc.. I hope they are paying you overtime.

Explain in detail please. “In detail”

Its in the August 2018 scope proposal to the company, para. J. states, "
At the DWH Base, the Company may designate and maintain a maximum of [50] DFW based line maintenance AMT's to work on the DWH ramp, and designate a hangar bay when necessary, to perform line maintenance work."

567 President and E-Board are adamant that they had no idea Peterson had inserted this language to relieve DWH of 50 AMT job and supplanting them with DFW AMTs. This leads me to wonder what other language the EC has inserted without my local presidents knowledge.

That raise in 16 just brought us up to the rest of the industry at the time plus 3. If the twu had got snap back in 03 and 12 we could move forward instead of fighting for what we had that the twu negotiated away. Like sick time holidays holiday pay. Double time etc. but the twu/iam are worried about grandkids being hired. Instead of fighting to get our 7th week of vacation back.

Those back room deals the twu is good at.

As a mechanic I second that motion we need our own union and y’all need yours.

Well they’re obviously at least publicly taking a hard line approach towards the Company. But then there are people on here who have wanted them to take that hard line their entire career but now that they are they don’t like it and want them to capitulate? Huh?

Question?

If the TWU could get the AMT’s more money by giving up Facilities and Automotive should they do it in your opinion?

The AMTs are going to get more money regardless of title 2. Everybody in title 2 has a job guarantee for as long as they remain with AA. Now going back over the years, how much success has the TWU really had in saving jobs (long term)? Pretty much zero. They will attempt to go to the trough, and suggest the AMTs accept less pay and benefits for future dues payers in these targeted areas - well the trough is dry. The guilt meter is on zero. Title one has lost it's share of jobs already, and will most likely lose some more. It's the nature of the industry. In the mean time, our current dues payers remain under the terms of a BK like contract - dating back over 15 years - TWU = zero fox given.

Ok I don’t understand it so I’ll stay out of it. I just hope your President isn’t playing Local Politics?
