American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Irrelevant to the TWU's failures.

Ah yes my apologies. The successes of others within the Airline Industry from the 80’s on through and past 9/11/2001 up to today is just beyond astounding. Pilots, Flight Attendants, Mechanics, Rampers, Management and Support Staff.

Have you had any personal failures that you would care to discuss here with us?

BTW the TWU has been the greatest thing since sliced bread over at SWA. Man oh man what a Union. Why do you think they’ve been so incredibly successful over there?

Yeah, go ahead and look for moral equivalents for the TWU's failures at AA. Even in good times it's bad.

SWA's TWU represented negotiate independently of each other, not unlike AA's dispatchers who recently kicked the TWU to the curb for an independent union. Trying to set themselves apart from the rest, for all the training they put in after a full 12 weeks of training for dispatchers certificate.

Vort I got bad news for you. There’s no one left for you to go to anymore. AMP was a dud and all the other Unions you might even think about going with have lined up to support each other. They are not looking to raid each other or are accepting any cards. That includes the TWU.

What were those Jim Little’s special special Dispatchers size? 150 or 300 people? Something like that. Why don’t you mention how the TWU organized over 5000 JetBlue Flight Attendants? No you talk about a piddly little group that was pissed off because they weren’t going to be treated special any longer. Good luck to them.

BTW when the hell has the Industry had good times since you hired on? What are you living in a different plane of reality or something?

The TWU messed up in only one area. They should have shut it down like Eastern and NWA so you guys could say “We showed them didn’t we” like those other morons did. Some of you guys need to make a sign and stand on a street corner and see what you can get.

Yes im sure getting an AP license automatically makes you a better driver.Sorry we did movements just fine you are correct we wouldnt want to do more work.By the way the only incidents i recall were when AMTS were driving ask Kev what happened at NW at lga i cant remember if plane was a total loss
Are you referring to the one that plowed into the terminal or the one into the hagars?

Yes I was really shocked with all the work that United amts did to get amfa then vote them out. It’s that right and there vote but it shocked me
I was too.

Hey since we’ve had to listen to this unending crap for years here why don’t some of you geniuses tell me how the World you live in would have been so much different if you had gotten what you wanted?

I’ll pick the year. You guys changed representation back in 1994. So now from 1994 to 2019 tell me how the story for you would be so incredibly different than the one you have today?

And give me a GOOD reason economically how everything would have been so peachy keen for you all.

1994 to 2019. GO.

Maybe because those people over there thought they sucked at that time?

Have you ever thought that the grass just might not be as green as you thought on the other side?

Maybe below that grass is a wet muddy bog?

You’re right, at ORD our park crews have had a lot issues with damaging aircraft same at all stations with mechs. we are not immune from mistakes either.

Well I can't speak for the industry but here is my take on American Airlines.

Things were good for them:

When they used bankruptcy to take another bite of the apple after conning the employees into taking concessions.

When they bought a fleet of brand new 737's.

When management enjoyed the benefits of record profits while using stalling tactics to deny front line employees their share of the success.

When management froze the pension plan and no attempt was made to unfreeze it by the UNION during those record profits.

When they continue saddling legacy AA members with an inferior medical plan.

I don't know WeAAsles you tell me. When the hell has the industry (American Airlines) had good times?
