Agreed . Maybe this will wake people up to sign cards but I’m not holding my breath
No it won't. This membership is too beat down and apathetic to take any action.

At LGA where LUS contracts out deicing US owned the trucks maintained them.US bought the deicing fluid store it in US owned tanks maintained by US. Hell US even bought the refractometers the the contract company was suppose to supply.A year like this year it hardly snowed but we still had to pay the deicers. If a pizzeria is busy on weekends you bring in a delivery boy for those days not the whole week.
What are you talking about? if the trucks are owned already its cheaper to bring aa people in on overtime than to pay a contract company.I told you once before i know more than im supposed toStupid analogy. AA still would have to pay a contract vendor for the cost of supplying those Trucks and fluids on top of all the other costs. Now sure if the Contractors are doing multiple airlines that in turn would bring the costs down somewhat for all but it’s not going to be a substantial savings either way.
The Company outsources work because all of those savings here and there add up to a lot. That’s more in line with how they think.
Trucks were bought and paid for 10 years ago.We maintain pay for fuel blah blah. Now all you have is labor say a contract company is paid 500k if it never snows they are still getting the 500k. If it snows 5 times they are getting 500k plus they bill.us for overtime and tried to get aa to.pay hotel rooms for deicers who by the way watch tv the whole season when not deicing. When US employeess did it if snow was in the forcast we used to call guys in for overtime.you think a city like new york where it snows an average of 38 inches a year will pay over 500k in overtime. And 500k is a low figure for the deicing contract. Our problem is no.one wants to do itStupid analogy. I'm guessing acting like a tough guy in NY doesn't scare anybody in a Texas boardroom.
I say go on strike and lets see what happens. Who's tougher the union president who won't get effected or the airline president who already broke one union at another airline. The real winner will not be the mechanics who are forced to pay dues to the association to maintain employment at AA.
Yes I know it’s been that way my 34 years. People want take the 5 minutes are less to sign cards . I respect those mechanics at southwest for taking action and getting amfa. Even if old laa amts Sign some of the iam amts want do to there iampf . Then fac mains would have to come on and sign cards to. And they didn’t in the amfa drive. Then we are fighting the dead and retired on the company seniority list. And the association knows this so they can screw around all they want causing us to loose money every day .No it won't. This membership is too beat down and apathetic to take any action.

We need our own maintenance union. We are the only major that dose not have one. It would be better on all groups there are to many groups in negotiations right now and we all have different issuesI am hoping ONE last time it will. THIS would be the last and final if it does not happen. Good luck if one is started again.
hog, I can only hope you are wrong brother. I am really hoping for one more final and last run for a class and craft unon at AA. Don't care who, just want you guys to go class and craft. Let's get'er done!!!
Keep dreaming. We need our own maintenance union. We are the only major that dose not have one. It would be better on all groups there are to many groups in negotiations right now and we all have different issues

O
I’m sorry but there is absolutely nothing in what is being proposed by the company that will effect my seniority that hasn’t always been effected. My hire date won’t change and I will still be behind the guy right in front of me no matter how this Ass spins it,
It’s so laughable to even try and use this as a rallying cry to get the uninformed to think we are being screwed.
The company is going to continue to make its billions but once we are sent to the back of the negotiating line there just won’t be as much to spend on us
Speaking from a maintenance view, I`m absolutely stunned, speechless that this crap is what the association put out. Disappointed and disheartened, angry. This association has no respect for its membership because they do not have to fear being replaced. So they sit there and thumb their noses at the membership. Nearly 4 weeks of promises to release our position and we get this. Year old stuff that is admittedly not even our current position. How this body can expect the membership to get together and support the EC or NC is beyond me. Arrogance on full display. If the NC had any sense of duty or honor. If the had any respect for this profession or membership, they would all step down en masse immediately. This crap they put out is simply unconscionable but not at all surprising. I will continue to support my coworkers and do my job IAW but I`m DONE with this unelected, illegitimate association and its appointed leadership.
