American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

There’s two things the company doesn’t give a damn about, their employees and their paying customers.
Anyone thinking otherwise is either clueless a hopeless company suck up or both
You're spot on about this. You could almost feel that mgmt views unionized labor as the enemy. This after labor sucked it up and helped the company for a lot of years. And now we've fallen behind Spirit Air in the rankings. What a disgrace. The blame has to go to Parker and Isom at the top.

Rat, you are correct on the "paying customers and employees:... the company only cares about ONE thing... SHAREHOLDERS!
Of course, this attitude permeates all corporations... it's all about the investors!

I think anyone who thinks you are going to keep the cherry (And about 10 years behind the market) LUS medical plan needs to be drug tested ASAP.
They is zero chance they will carve out an exception, when that would result in everyone eventually getting on that plan.
union already agreed to scrap the lus medical in 2022. The company offer has an extension of 12 months. If TAd ive been told the 12 months to the nearest year still applies. That will take things to 2021. So, health care shouldnt be an issue as the union agreed to scrap the plan in 2022.

what do the corporate union think about other than salary and dues?

This is currently the # 1 thing I want clarified by the Company that so far they seem to be unwilling to answer.

By the company? Really?? Why not get confirmation from your fking union??? Boy you really are for the other side.

Thanks!
It was nice to see this morning; especially since the 1st quarter is usually one of the weaker ones.
Yes. Indeed. That was my exact point about the first Q. Again, GREAT JOB!!!

This thread is so fking lost it is pathetic. Keep losing it boys. Your doing a great job, and weez is at the helm...

I’ll likely drop off after we get JCBA’s and go back to reading books. Can’t get much more peaceful than reading books.

Did you remember signing that first dues check off card that you agreed to sign making you a TWU member and giving them the authority to make certain decisions on your behalf?

You honestly could have refused to sign that card (So could I have) but you know where we both would not be working today.

Again when I signed that card I gave up certain “individual” rights. Something to this day I have no problem accepting.
At what point will you say wtf? The twu gave you away to the ass family without a choice. Would you have a problem if the ass passes you on to another bargaining agent? What if Sito n Sam decide to form their own union and just use your check off card to indenture you to themselves. Sure you could have a card drive but look at all the free quid they could extort before the removal happened if it ever did.

You gotta wonder if Jim Little wasn’t threatened into signing off on this ass. Sure he may have taken a bribe or whatever commensurate term you care to describe it as but there may have been a veiled threat to go along with it.

If you think this ass was formed with YOUR best interest in mind you are in denial.

It’s embarrassing to be lumped in with this bunch of brainiacs. Alot of us have thrown up our hands and accepted it for what it is. Most of us are short timers and this contract will be our last if it even happens. The ass gave away our bargaining leverage with the cross utilization raise. Most realized after that a contract wouldnt happen until months or years after the bankruptcy contract became amendable which has proven to be the case.
Holding out for better scope language, better medical and support for a failing pension plan at this point in our careers is ridicules. Considering the first downturn in the airline industry this bankruptcy prone management will file and get the scope, medical n whatever else their heart desires from us.

I can imagine...

Stupid.webp

Robbed can you name how many successful card drives Tim has championed at LUS/AA?
Can you guess if Tim can even vote on the "last proposal" he claims we should vote on?
Lets see here... Hmm.. No.. 0. Zilch . Nada. No proof of an actual proposal .. Sorry bud cldnt be more of a help. 🙂

nobody can vote on the last offer. unless the company is bluffing about the iam pension.
The pension was given 5 year life span, 2 years ago,, and if 11,000 are removed it will be a fatal dagger and the pension would dump into the pbgc.
The only possible vote in the next 5 years, by the masses, will be to dump the association then immediately vote on the offer.
