American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I've never understood why the company hasn't made a counter offer to meet somewhere in the middle with the LAA plan with a lower deductible and max out of pocket. While many LAA people on here have commented on the monthly premiums not being as bad as the LUS side makes them out to be, they are failing to recognize that the big difference is the deductible and max out of pocket costs.

There are links on line that the Company has left open publicly that make that information easily searchable.

Rumor has it the Company has said if the Association “moves” on Medical, they will “talk” about Scope.

That comment seems rather one sided if true.

I think anyone who thinks you are going to keep the cherry (And about 10 years behind the market) LUS medical plan needs to be drug tested ASAP.
They is zero chance they will carve out an exception, when that would result in everyone eventually getting on that plan.

Everyone SHOULD have access to it!!!
Healthy employees are the backbone of this company's success, right?
Its the employees that they always praise for their profitability come quarterly earnings reporting time, but behind the curtain, they stab you in the back with inferior health insurance.

Its totally not out realm of possibility that the pilots and flight attendants get a contract before us.If they do and it includes the existing AA plan do you think the Association will give in?oh and i absolutely disagree with the union stance and yours that it doesnt make a difference what other work groups get or what another airline gets it absolutely does.

Are you someone who has gone through every major Union Contract in America to see what others pay in their particular fields?

The greatest concern for any changes that may come about to the current IAM Medical costs are not what the Company wants but the future Cadillac Tax that may necessitate mutually agreed to changes to the plans and costs.

That of course is a possibility and what happened to the LUS FA’s as I recall. But they were also given extra money for the exchange.

I never said that it doesn’t matter at all. What I said was other Unions Negotiate for their Members and our Unions Negotiate for us.

There are multiple areas where the Company is also looking to cherry pick (Like the Association too) and not really compare to the rest of the industry.

Take Retiree Medical as a new topic we don’t discuss enough here. The Company does not want to compare the formula that exists at UAL but instead wants to basically offer us nothing in exchange for our sick bank.

They are also looking to cherry pick other items in their favor (Just like the Association)

You’re both correct.

Are you serious? You refer to your own guys as “pricks” and “greedy.” Yet you constantly cheerlead a group that forced us into an association to negate our ability to vote. A group that got 60% raises yet holds 75% of the workforce hostage because they can’t afford to pay a lousy $50 more a month. Need I say more? It’s pretty clear who the “greedy pricks” are. The IAM proves over and over that they are LAA’s enemy, but somehow someway you find a way to stay up their a$$. Wake up man! gd hypocrite

You're out of order, Brother!

Sounds like you're part of management by the tone of this post. BTW, what plan do you and Doug along with the rest of the top brass have?
As I said before, no reason that the company can't make the crappy LAA plan better for EVERYONE. Lower the outrageous deductibles and out of pocket costs, and maybe it will be an easier sell. It's about time for this company to put the employees ahead of the shareholders. Remember that saying, happy employees equal a better experience for the passengers, and better overall dividends for the company and shareholders. In my entire career, I've never seen more greedy management, with a toxic work environment. It's not a secret, that Doug has no problem with an unhappy workforce, as long as it saves him a buck.

There’s two things the company doesn’t give a damn about, their employees and their paying customers.
Anyone thinking otherwise is either clueless a hopeless company suck up or both
