American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Nope....Nope...and Nope. But, I would love for you to prove me wrong, right here, today! Just post it Tim.
Obviously there are a few things at play.
1. No deal is coming. So we are on ice forever.
2. The bosses wont allow a vote.

The masses have made it clear that they dont support basketts call for a immediate slowdown. They have also made it almost unanimous that they want to vote. See the scientific polling.

Thus we need a stimulant which will most certainly be The American Labor Movement Union to run a campaign to break the ice, clean up negotiations in no more than 30 days, and allow a vote to let the masses express their voice.

regards,

they have zero plan. they are lazy and looks like baskett and wilson packed on 50 pounds a piece.
They have done nothing in 5 years except F up united, F up our leverage here, fail to enforce our contract, but gave themselves a $31,000 pay raise.
$3 pay increase may not mean anything to baskett but it means alot to people on the floor. Without a vote, they will alienate more members, especially since there wont be a 30 day like weez lies about, only ice.
Im gonna fire up the cards at the printer if things are stalled with no path by June. Then they will have to deal with a raid. I dont think a raid will initially work but it will build and gain steam after a few more years.
When people resort to personal attacks you know they have lost!
Not sure about the 50 lbs for each comment, but I do think that you would have to step up a weight class or two before you threaten to beat anyone else up.
I am perfectly aware that both parties must agree to arbitration. My posts were if were to submit to an arbitrator.
So, if the union really believes this is an awful contract, then agree to arbitration and we will win the day according to the association.
Otherwise, do whatever it takes to get a full proposal from the company so the members can vote it down.
I don;t know what the ASSociation is afraid of if they trust their members or an arbitrator.
You are right....You don’t know...that’s why there are people telling you what the dangers of an arbitrator are. Just listen to them.
Just reference the FA’s arbitration.

Master of the non-response. Just post it! Today!!

Although I put the odds again of striking as incredibly low if that’s what it takes to protect my group from the Company potentially labeling my owned work as only loading and unloading Aircraft, oh you can bet your ass I’m ready to walk that picket line.

You would too if you weren’t just waiting to be bought out/off.
Nice little jab there.
If you read the latest ASSociation update which of course is NOT signed, the company said they will not give a proposal until everything is in place.
So put it in place and let the members reject the contract if it so bad.

And once again for YOU and all the readers here, I will not be taking a buyout because I am not retiring within the next 3 years.
So put your assumptions about me to rest.

At the end of the day one way or another the company will come out ahead.
At least you are saying it correctly Metal, it is indeed a "buyout" and not "bought off" that has been stated by some as well. Yet when it's time for those folks to go, watch how the tune changes...

The TWU has better scope language.
Definitely when you include Envoy. The TWU can't lose. But the AA TWU contract has the worst scope in the industry by far. They only have 17 stations, 3 of which have zero scope today. They punted tower and CLP to non union. Forget about catering. And agreed in bankruptcy to allow envoy runners to come to the planeside and run all of the offload envoy bags to transfer points and to envoy gates.

In ORD, LUS could follow our own scope, which is better, and stop allowing envoy to take their bags from our planes instead of us transferring them as the contract says, but our AGC Fairbanks said that everyone needs to work in harmony.

At any rate, if we went down to only 17 stations and gave up running transfer bags like the TWU to envoy, and dumped catering, CLP, Tower, would that be better scope? Not hardly. But I bet if we chose to go down to 17 stations, that the company would allow us to do catering and all the work in only 17 stations if we coughed up 24 other stations. The IAM did it before when it was allowed to keep catering by dumping 80 stations.

So that means the company could create another class of worker to move aircraft ala JetBlue and DL? Pay them less than fleet too.

Our Aircraft Move Team is within the Ramp Service group. They are under a different classification (ie: specialty position), and get paid a premium (1.75). In my experience, a lot of it is senior, and they bid among themselves. There are pros and cons IMHO. But a lot of people like it. We've had it for many years. So I would think that if one is created, it would have to stay within the Ramp/Fleet Service class as a premium position, and not farmed out.

The Golden Wrench was a popularity contest. Some deserved but most, well they weren't the sharpest toolsi n the shed, no pun intended.

And will tell you this, I still call myself an aircraft mechanic. Not ashamed of it and I actually prefer to be called it.
Calling us technicians has done nothing to elevate our status.

FYI I was busting the chops of the Negotiators a while back cause they were trying to figure out what we should call ourselves, Fleet Service Clerks, Ramp Agents or something new.

I could give a rats ass actually. Maybe I would feel differently if I was in one of your more skilled trades but I highly doubt it. Just don’t need the title, or accolades myself is all. (Bag smasher is fine by me)

BTW did you notice how they crossed out their old names in the new SWA agreement to call themselves Technicians?

They're still part of the industry, WeAAz.
An arbitrator won't exclude DL from the comparison.

Maybe the NC would want DL in the mix. After all, we have 45 stations from the largest staffed one in the US (ATL) to the smallest (FNT).

So that means the company could create another class of worker to move aircraft ala JetBlue and DL? Pay them less than fleet too.

At DL, A/C movement is either done by the ramp or AMTs (if staffed). No lower classification.

When people resort to personal attacks you know they have lost!
Agreed. Hopefully, some of the gas bags on this page will take your words to heart. Maybe a PM from you would help?

if we dont vote by May then its impossible to get a deal unless the company is bluffing over the iam pension. The pension is a goner if 10,000 members are taken out. The iam will never accept a deal without the pension. Thus the iam needs replaced.
The reason why the iam refusesto support a vote is because
1. It knows the members wont listen and will ratify.
2. It is lying.

regards.

1. Did you reinstate and face your trial? Otherwise you can’t vote.
2. The Association has publicly stated any LUS member will be given the option to leave the IAMNPF as long as the company pays the exit fee.

Only one lying is you.
nobody is voting. Period. You guys have no exit plan out of these negotiations. So, I'm going to raid this miserable union. It will no doubt start with little support but it will build over the next couple years. In the meantime, carry on with your same ole.

You have no freakn exit plan. LMFAO. You dudes back yourselves into a corner of lies.

regards

And you won't allow a vote because
1. You know damn well that you can't trust the members since they don't listen to you.
2. You are lying.

regards,

I think I figured out a solution to this Association. The IAM has the superior contract for the mechanics, Mechanics and related go IAM. Weasels since he loves the TWU , the rampers and related go TWU. Win Win! 🙂

Here's a bright idea. LET THE MEMBERS DECIDE WHO THEY WANT TO REPRESENT THEM!!!
