American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I am perfectly aware that both parties must agree to arbitration. My posts were if were to submit to an arbitrator.
So, if the union really believes this is an awful contract, then agree to arbitration and we will win the day according to the association.
Otherwise, do whatever it takes to get a full proposal from the company so the members can vote it down.
I don;t know what the ASSociation is afraid of if they trust their members or an arbitrator.

Perhaps when the Company actually states that they have given their last offer that will come to pass? Or we will continue to go through the process under the RLA as outlined.

Metal stop being in such a hurry to get your buyout ok. Like I said yes you deserve it but the rest of us who are still stuck here for awhile aren’t really willing to bend over to get it to you any quicker.

BTW why don’t you push the Company to get you the damn thing?

Ken has done alot for our profession.
However, I hope it does not become a popularity contest like the Golden Wrench was.

Nothing personal but you guys really do like to look at yourselves in the mirror and preen way more than you realize.

You shouldn’t need awards to recognize your own value. Personally I think it’s a sign of insecurity really.

Although I put the odds again of striking as incredibly low if that’s what it takes to protect my group from the Company potentially labeling my owned work as only loading and unloading Aircraft, oh you can bet your ass I’m ready to walk that picket line.

You would too if you weren’t just waiting to be bought out/off.
WeAAz, I have alot of time, but a one year buyout does nothing for me considering i'm not at retirement age yet. I work with 67, 68 + year guys who give days away but are waiting for the buyout. Asinine if you ask me.
WeAAz, I will tell you this, MANY whom I work with do NOT like TWU let alone the association. They will NOT strike.

If you read the latest ASSociation update which of course is NOT signed, the company said they will not give a proposal until everything is in place.
So put it in place and let the members reject the contract if it so bad.

And once again for YOU and all the readers here, I will not be taking a buyout because I am not retiring within the next 3 years.
So put your assumptions about me to rest.

At the end of the day one way or another the company will come out ahead.

The Golden Wrench was a popularity contest. Some deserved but most, well they weren't the sharpest toolsi n the shed, no pun intended.

And will tell you this, I still call myself an aircraft mechanic. Not ashamed of it and I actually prefer to be called it.
Calling us technicians has done nothing to elevate our status.

That’s fine. Then they can scab and prove once and for all that none of you have ever been any different than those guys over at NWA. I guess the smartest ones being the ones who told AMFA to take a hike and crossed that picket line.

Anyway I’m going to mark my retirement date on a calendar in a few more years and when that day comes no carrot on a stick is going to keep me from getting the F out of this crap place.

Then I might take a nice little “peaceful” job just as something to do stacking items on a shelf in some store for minimum wage or whatever they want to pay me?

Sorry man. I thought you were waiting for that package delivery guy to show up at your door.

Yea those guys in the pic with me should put a name on those updates maybe just to quiet people down? Andre, Gary and Mike.

And I doubt the Company completely comes out ahead cause you know they can’t stand the idea of paying me 70K plus to smash bags. Or frankly 130K for you to turn a wrench in their minds.

For all of AMFA's failures, at least they STRUCK. They got decimated but at least they did something.
I doubt very much today's generation cares enough.

All I can say is Corporate greed.

How can you say AMFA struck if half the Membership wound up scabbing?

So are you going to say the same thing about the Association if they strike?

Would you scab any of those Brothers of yours brave (or stupid) enough to walk that picket line?

bagroom is included and explicit in the work. The offer is written. It exist and its not bullet points.
Nope....Nope...and Nope. But, I would love for you to prove me wrong, right here, today! Just post it Tim.

If your "Golden Wrench" is anything like our "Top Wrench" they can keep it. "Top Wrench" use to be an honor to receive. Then people complained and biched and moned about not getting them and now they just pass it out to anyone who was put in for it, and yes some very lazy non go getters started getting them, even guys that never even open their tool boxes for days and just float around, it is pathetic. I would be embarrassed to receive one now days, it really means "nothing" any more since the snowflakes complained for not getting one, very sad indeed.

I think I figured out a solution to this Association. The IAM has the superior contract for the mechanics, Mechanics and related go IAM. Weasels since he loves the TWU , the rampers and related go TWU. Win Win! 🙂
