American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

What is on the table from the company isnt just about future work, or for the future employees. Believe me, if the company gets their way with this agreement, everyone’s seniority will suffer. Meaning head count shrinks through the life of the contract, less shifts, days off, vacation for everyone to bid. Not to mention bidding into certain work areas that may be gone.
So unless your one of the ones that want a buy out and gone in the next year or two, people need to know now that this will effect everyone with these issues.

And also the company only has to guarantee jobs until the people leave. Nothing stops them from offering a buy out every year just to get rid of more jobs so they can contract them out.

Many of the posters on this thread are over 30 years in the Company. They don’t care. They want the money and they’re gone.

The crowd we need to focus on is on Facebook, and Twitter.

I dont see a way out of this without us bending. What leverage do we have you know Parkers history, he could wait it out.I always point to the AW and US pilots

Yea this airline is unbelievable. Wants to still take from contracts that’s either as the fifth largest carrier, or a bankrupt agreement. Still taking while raking in billions.
I agree...concessions are unacceptable in this environment....

Concessions are ridiculous in this environment. And the Company should have gotten all they needed through all their Bankruptcy Court visits already.

We have whatever leverage the 30 thousand members decide we have. We COULD make this company start moving our way tomorrow. If we only would. But some seem to say, let’s just take what we can get because it’s all the company’s going to offer.
But if that’s the attitude? Why even negotiate? Why not just have the company put out offers every 3 months until one gets good enough and gets voted in.

People forget, this will eventually come to a end, one way or another.

They did get all they needed, the profits prove it. They got more than enough. But if they can get more? Why not take it. That’s the company’s attitude.

When we try to use our leverage it could be stopped immediately and if not..well ask the APA what could have happened to their treasury. Honestly with me being US im really not losng anything with status quo even if its years

But why does it take you to lose anything to make you want to fight? Why doesn’t knowing the fact that they still want to take from your 2014 agreement as the fifth largest carrier enough to make us fight?
Waiting until you lose something to fight is too late!! You’ve already lost at that point. Company doesn’t care how pissed you are then.

There it is in a nutshell boys and girls. The LUS side is good with riding this out indefinitely. The LAA side is losing out everyday. The formation of this association doomed the TWU represented folks and handed the company a divided workforce. The AFL-CIO did the dirty work for the company and didn't care. They preserved what was really important to todays unions...dues. We are on pace to blow right past the SWA negotiations mark of 6.5 years. "United we stand, divided we fall" right? Well we are a divided workforce thanks to the greed of the afl-cio.
