I would like to thank everyone who came out yesterday and held a sign, to help hold the line...
We knew that we were in for a fight .... But many of us believed that it would not take this long.
And many have asked "how long will it take?"
I say it will take as long as it takes...
If we don't try... We will have our hands chained economically...we will have to decide what bills can be paid now and what bills can wait...or can I go to the doctor or do I buy food...
And scope.... They say that " you" will keep your job...these are the same bastards that say that that insurance is ' almost ' as good as the one we have now ... Some believe that ... I don't. I can't... I have seen to much from them. I have been through too much...
When we come to work , we see people, co-workers, and friends, they see numbers with a profit/loss equation attached... With their own self greed they can't see us as people anymore...greed so deep, that they think we will sell one another out for a quick, short pay out... I say no.... That we will NOT sell ourselves out ...... Not now, not in the future... We are not the selfish assholes they think we are...we are better then that.. we've got to be better than that... If we're not , then we lose... A few have children that work out here.
Most do not... So all they leave there, is a reputation, a memory in the collective workforce... I do not want our reputation, our memory, years from now, to be viewed as a turning point... that we gave up in a time of plenty... And took less that what we have now..
So I deeply thank all of you that did show up and held a sign, and as far as the ones who did not...I'm sure you had your reasons... good or bad, only you have to justify it in your own minds

This is actually a post I copied from a union brother about the clt picketing. I thought it was very well put about today’s majority mind set. I wanted to post it here, just to see how many that’s still on this forums page will read it and still put it down and make fun of it. Because this is a perfect example of how we need to get back to thinking as a group in my opinion.

CB,

I agree with you and the Union Brother. The old saying of "united we stand, divided we beg" couldn't be more true.

Everyone needs to understand one thing the company is saying, is that you can stay in your city until they come after you in the next contract. So if anybody is thinking you will work in your city for 30 more years, you're living in fantasyland. Think about it, each contract they have a strategy of conquer and divide the membership, so how will they try to divide us next time?

I hear ya brother. But as I have said and told you before, we had our people at the last Dfw picket. Actually I even had a twu brother tell me that going by percentages, we had more than the twu. But this only matters for those of you that are trying to be hell bent on division. We had a few twu brothers join us in clt yesterday. But guess what? If we didn’t have one twu guy there, it didn’t matter. They were all there as far as we were concerned. We were walking on behalf of all of us. We were still going to hold the signs up that said association and twu. The division that many on here want to talk about is simply not there. Hate to disappoint the ones that want it to be there, but it’s just not. I know, I’m one of the ones that are there. So you guys that want to preach the division!! Keep going!! It’s making you a lot of progress.

It sounds like things are starting to come to a breaking point. If we all just do our jobs as we are trained to do things would work out.

All the nonsense feel good articles on jetnet are hilarious, do they actually beleive that stuff will help?
Triple play, running an ontime dependable airline. Kumbaya.....mofo

If we all would just do our jobs by the safety rules the company put in place, we would have had a contract along time ago. Many people ask “ how much longer “ but they are the exact ones that work under a me policy, and will do anything and everything to make things best for them.

Lol. Believe it or not. It helps them a lot more than you would think. It amazes me how many people will go above and beyond for this company while the big boys are laughing all the way to the bank.

Yea but now you’re no longer an LCC even if Management wants to try to keep you under that umbrella. Actually Kelly said he wanted SWA to be an Ultra LCC. You guys just keeping making sure he doesn’t get that wish granted.
BS weezal. You still have NO CLUE. SWA IS still an LCC and you know this. Yes GK did in fact say he wanted SWA to get their cost as low as possible to get to the ULCC status, but, never made it. So, YES, we still are a LCC. Stop spouting off with crap you know NOTHING about once again.

Yes indeed. Do your jobs fellas.

Exactly. The exact same quote I have said in the past. AA is laughing all the way to the bank. So it is time for you and others to make a change to stop that. Hellooooo.

Hellooo to who? I know who “ you “ is, but tell me who the “ others “ are? In your post.

dude, you are the one who knifed us all in the back by recommending that worthless United contract. I told you that would haunt us here but you didnt listen because you dont understand. Then you recommend a $30,000 salary increase for yourself.
Never mind that you company men gave up our leverage by going for wages only for the dues grab.

Moving forward, if you guys are going to dig in for years, then you need to ask the membership.
The passengers or company could care less about a picket. The company's last offer wont budge. its a "take it or leave it" and will stay that way forever unless the economy tanks.

Well, obviously the comment didnt come from you or any other overpaid union boss. But the big question is if the union bosses are going to allow members to decide or if you guys are going to dig in for years without consent?
Members wanna know.

[QUOTE="Tim Nelson, post: 1324790,
Members wanna know.

You are not a member, you are not an elected spokesman for the members, you don’t speak for them nor do you represent them. you are irrelevant.[/QUOTE]
You guys dont represent anyone either, only on paper. Im so thankful Im not a member.
I have always enjoyed speaking from the gate in with the Masses. Sito and Mr Baskett are oppressing the voice of the masses. You know that the masses would vote this industry leading contract in and thats why you dont want them to vote.
You guys will be costing us millions of dollars. And, without a vote, we both know the contract wont be improved upon because stalling isnt going to improve anything.
The company has no desire to take care of greasing Sito.
If the stall continues, the ALM will initiate a campaign at AA.
regards,
